87 Mj V. 92 Xj Compatability

I found a 92 XJ in the JY. It was damaged in the right front fender. Other than that it was in great condition. It has a 4.0 auto.

 

I am wondering how much of the interior is compatable with the 87.

 

Front bucket seats and mounting bracket?

Behind/under dash electronics?

Fuse block?

Cruise control?

Electronics - totally different

Fuse block - Don't know, never looked at a '92

Cruise - Don't know

Another thread on CC.com reports that the mounting brakets between MJ and XJ are NOT compatable. Oh, well.

 

Ashame on the cruise control. I would really like to get mine fixed.

You can attach XJ buckets to the MJ pedestals with some modification, but I believe you're SOL on the rest of it.

I want the pedestal, though. Mine are rusting at the bolts.

Yeah, XJ and MJ floors aren't the same, so you won't be able to use them.

What do you mean by interior? just the seats, or everything?

 

I am currently in the middle of swapping a 93 xj dash into my comanche, along with the motor/trans/tc w/ the wiring harness so it'll all work.

yeah the console fits but i am going to do a 97+ XJ console and hopefully seats... idk yet.

i am doing the 97+ front end conversion, so the doors will have the new panels also.
