mjeff87
For those that have gone SOA, what size flexible rear brakeline are you running? I can get a s/s braided line for short money, but it's 26"....would that be too long? TIA, Jeff
Pete M
Is there such thing as "too long"? :dunno: The Dakota line I'm running is way long. Try searching the archives for it and see if someone listed a size when they suggested it.
Duner
I bought the stainless set from Rusty's it seems like they are 24 to 26 inches long did not actually measure this. I don't think it really hurts anything as you can usually keep them out of the way and still retain enough slack for axle drop. Besides my lift started with about three inches for the overall plan and 31" tires it currently is about 6.5" on 33" tires so it is just a matter of time before it reaches 8" or 9" lift. Good thing is my friends from school are inheriting their mom's cherokees and they all want them lifted now that they seen what my dad and I have done to the comanche so I have buyers lined up for the earlier skyjacker lift and the various lift spacers lying around the garage. carnuck
I'm running the stock line but I moved it down onto the bracket for the load sensor. It gets protected by the 33" spare tire under my shortbox.
bpm4x4
Just to be different I ran a 79 F150 4x4 hose (but I do have a 9" out of a 79 Bronco)
CEThomas
When I checked my axle today to see how long of a hose I need for the SOA I got 24". Where are you getting your line from? Charles

Oizarod115
the lines RE sells in their 5.5" kit (SOA kit) are 22" i think the ones you got should be fine. just make sure they don't hang around and get caught on something.
CWLONGSHOT
Like Pete, I am running a mid '90's Dakota line. Its PLENTY long for my almost 6" of lift. CW
mjeff87
I was at the junkyard yesterday, looking at Dakotas to try and get an estimate. EVERY one of them was missing the rear line  On another sad note, there was an XJ there with what looked like about a 4" lift kit on it. Problem was that the PO smashed the front end so badly on the passenger side that nothing was useable....lift coils (had about 12-14 coil wraps), adjustable LCA's, quick disconnects with heim joints, adjustable trackbar.....all shot :headpop: The only thing I coulda taken off of it was the driverside extended brake line....the passenger side was shredded. I might go back down and get the rear leafpacks, in case some XJ-er is looking for a set of lift leaves. Jeff
