SOA/trac bar

I'm gearing up to do a SOA with an 8.8 in the rear of my MJ and I'm looking for ideas for a trac bar, to alleviate axle wrap. for those of you who have done the SOA, can you post up a pic or two of what you came up with for a trac bar? thanks,

A track bar is not a solution for axle wrap. The track bar is to keep the axle centered under the vehicle, but on a leaf spring vehicle, a track bar does nothing but limit flexibilty. When you do your spring over be sure to use the long "anti-wrap" spring perches. RE makes the ones that I used on our YJ when I did the SOA on it. I took off the track bars both front & rear and took off the sway bar as well. There are anti-wrap devices out there, but I would recommend the perches to start with and see what you get.

sorry, i guess i shoulda been more clear. by "trac" bar, i meant "traction" bar minus the "tion" at the end, not "track" bar. i know the difference, i shoulda written it more clearly

 

i considered longer perches, but my springs are pretty soft, i think even with those, they'd twist. never thought of the extra main leaf though, thanks guys

 

oh yeah, and keep'em coming! the more ideas i get to choose from the better

I pieced together my set from 4 different rusty MJ packs (each had one broken leaf in it). They have held up well, but I'm going to be building a new set come springtime using rust free packs (from Florida). They will be similar, but the extra main leaf will be from an Explorer pack. I'm seriously considering adding a half-leaf on top. For the life of me I can't remember what the name of this technique is, but I saw it in one of my magazines a while back. You mount the half-leaf to the top of the pack facing forwards. Then you make a retainer bracket that hold the end of the leaf loosely to the pack below it. The theory is that the new half-leaf will help fight the front of the pack from pulling up from spring wrap, but won't affect the stuff and drop of the suspension. I wish I had a picture of it, as it sounds really cool. :(
