x-member issue's

Recommended Posts

installed my ax-15,

i have 2 x-members that are stock and they don't entirely line up,

I'm using the back mounts for the x-member,

the furthest back line up, the front holes on x-member do not,

they are 1" to far forward,

has any one had this problem??

if so, what x-member do i need to fix this?

this may sound a little stupid but, is the rubber mount on the correct way? I also noticed the rubber part can be put on backwards (rotated 180 degrees) and move the x-member by about an inch left to right. there are 2 sets of mounting holes for x-members. My BA-10 used one set, and the AX-15 used the other. is the crossmember backwards?

Yes, the way you can ID the diff between the AX-15 and AW4 (which I think you have) crossmembers is the center section. Looking at it from the top, the AX-15 dips down about 3/4" while the AW4 has no dip; it's straight across. Also the right side indent for the exhaust pipe is formed differently. I've just been through all of this trying to drop the tranny w. an AX-15 member, but it caused my exhaust pipe to rub due to the headers.
