Blue88Comanche
I have done it a few times and installed a new rom on it.. it ran faster and was able to use a faster "h" network instead of the 3G
kro10000
Yup I did, but every time I tried to flash a new rom it failed. So I'm just happy with the juice defender app and stickin it to the man.
Thunderbear
Did it a couple times to some Heros. Made an awful phone actually usable. Haven't had to root my Infuse, it does everything I want without having to root, with a couple minor exceptions.
87Warrior
Can somebody help out the moron? I just got an Android based phone and am trying to figure everything out. Soooo, what does it mean to 'root' your phone?
Backdraft
Basically, to root your phone is to exploit the security feature. It unlocks your phone, giving you full access to the software or the OS of your phone. Thus allowing you to customize, modify, or remove and replace your phones operating system software. That's the long answer. Short answer is to unlock your phone so you can remove bloatware, extend battery life, etc......HTH
