wind noise

Recommended Posts

I noticed that on mine too. The seals around the window channel that the window rolls up and down in had shrunk over the years and had left gaps at the top edge... sounds just like what you are describing. I took care of it by replacing the doors with some off of a much nicer XJ Waggy with all the power options.

I have found a number of plugs in the firewall to be the culprit of excessive wind noise. I replaced all the seals including the expensive ones around the vent window without solving the noise issue, by just chance I was installing a light harness, and an electronic mirror, and when I was under the dash I could see daylight from two plugs. One under the clutch master, and the other near the steering rod.

:grrrr:
