btm24 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I have every thing in meaning, t-case, drive shaft, shifter, axle lol, and tranny. So now my last problem is the vacuum part. I think the front Dana 30 is out of an 86 XJ. What do I need to do vacuum wise to get every thing working properly? A diagram would be very helpful. Thank you Brandon
jimoshel Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 X3, or get a front axle from a later model that doesn't have it.
btm24 Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 I don't think it's a CAD I just checked here are a few pics Maybe a mix up in years :dunno: Any other thoughts? Brandon
SW86 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 just seal off the vacuum lines with something. i used a heat sealing tube on mine and yes that axle is at least from 92 and up
Pete M Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 early-than-92 XJs with the awd t-case came with a non-CAD axle.
btm24 Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 I don't know maybe I'm just being stupid, but how do the hubs engauge? I thought that It would have to have somthing vacume to lock in the hubs :dunno: Am I thinking into this to much? Or am I missing somthing? Thanks Brandon
SW86 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 the vaccum just locked the two axle shafts on the pass side together. since you have a single piece shaft on the pass side now you don't need it. the transfer case is what makes it all go round.
nitroxsteve Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 The axles are turning all the time nothing to engauge.
btm24 Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 Ok I'm sorry I've never had to deal with my own 4wd system and just thought that it would have to have somthing to "lock" in the axles. I found out the 4x4 worked great today when moving her for the first time in a month. I thank y'all for all of your help :D Brandon
