jimoshel
My DD, '87 MJ has a clapped out interior with a busted up dash cover. Think, radio doesn't work so you pound on the dash. Then there's the hot Western sun beating on it. Parting out a '89 XJ with cherry interior but wrong color. Grey. MJ is Blue. I was just going to rattle can paint it to match but wondering if there is a better way. Really not sure how paint will bond to vinyl.
Thunderbear
http://king-of-clubs.blogspot.com/ That's the site I'm using as a guide for recoloring my 'porno red' interior. SEM color coat vinyl dye and a low luster SEM clearcoat is what he uses, multiple applications of each, of course.
mvusse
Krylon makes a paint specifically for plastics. I believe it's called fusion.
nitroxsteve
You can get vinyl, plastic paint at the autoparts store. I changed my interior from butterscotch to grey two years ago and its holding up well. I even painted the seat belts and thats working too. dasbulliwagen
I used the Krylon Fusion to re color my door panels in my truck. Seems to be holding up well. I can't comment on how or if it would work on seats or the dash though. Good luck.
HOrnbrod
Mopar makes vinyl spray to match any interior color, and they all have specific part numbers. I had to use some red plastic interior pieces and used the Mopar vinyl paint to match my gray interior, and it looks original. This was years ago and these pieces still perfectly match the original gray and look good.
Rymanrph
IIRC, the original parts are painted from the get go; they aren't molded in that color, so the stuff you get from Mopar is the same stuff used for the original parts.
