Pete M
why are you removing the charcoal canister? all it does it absorb excess fumes from your gas tank and then allow the engine to burn them off?

He must love the smell of gas fumes while driving.
ParadiseMJ
Strictly my opinion, except for #2. Both of your ideas are: 1. Bad 2. Illegal (Federal Law) 3. Unnecessary  Your truck won't run any better, you won't get any better mileage. Leave the cannister, replace the hoses. If you remove the cat and get caught...it's a $1,000 fine, at least...so you decide.

ParadiseMJ
k charcoal stays, kitty still goes That's the illegal part. Just advice...oh, and federal smog law.
A-man930
No reason to remove the cat unless its clogged (only happens if you've got something majorly wrong with you ENGINE btw) and you don't want to pay to replace it. Which at that point I can understand.
