Incommando Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 http://thechive.com/2011/08/02/black-be ... -8-photos/ If the link goes, this is from thechive.com. A black bear attacked a cow in a herd. The other cows, in what looks like a coordinated attacked, kicked the bear's butt and sent it packing.
Sir Sam Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I wonder how much hurt that black bear was under. Rooster are the same way, they will make an attacker think twice about messing with the hens, or die trying, which is usually what happens.
btm24 Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Amazing very cool to see the pics and not just the story :clapping: Brandon
mvusse Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Dealt with many a black bear in northern Ontario and never met one agressive enough to go after anything even remotely the size of a cow. They mostly eat berries, plants, frogs and fish. Sometimes small rodents when they can catch them.

terrawombat Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 My dog went after a newborn calf the other day. He got his but whooped by Mama cow. Dog didn't learn his lesson though as he went after it again this weekend.
HOrnbrod Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 That black bear was either: 1. Severely starving, 1. Rabid and crazy, or 1. Young and stupid. And I don't think any young black bear would be stupid enough to attack a herd of cows. I could see a certain Cocker Spaniel I know doing it though. :shake:
dakal Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 reminds me of a bar i was in on leave. woke up the next morning with stars written in lipstick all over my body. didn't know whether to take it positive or negatively . still don't.
Sir Sam Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 2. Rabid and crazy, or 2. Young and stupid. I think it was #2. didn't know whether to take it positive or negatively . still don't. How was your cornhole feeling the next morning? That ought to be an indication.
HOrnbrod Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 2. Rabid and crazy, or 2. Young and stupid. I think it was #2. My mistake. I fixed it now. It's #1. didn't know whether to take it positive or negatively . still don't. How was your cornhole feeling the next morning? That ought to be an indication. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Incommando Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 That reminds me of all of those UFO "abduction" stories... If you go out drinking with a bunch of buddies and then wake up the next morning laying half-naked in a field & feeling like you got "probed," it doe not mean you were abducted and experimented upon by aliens...it just means that you were the first to pass out...
jimoshel Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I was abducted by aliens once. They were trying to improve their intellectual level and after searching the universe they selected me. After a year and I had bred all their women they tried to send me back. The women revolted and raised such a ruckus they decided to keep me. I was only able to escape and return to Earth by building a rocket ship out of a Quacker oats carton and duct tape. :D :rotfl2:
jimoshel Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Just because they were aliens didn't mean they didn't eat breakfast.
