mj Mike
your not too late! we gotta keep bumping this up. Marines are probably laughing at our disorganization. This month we all really need to turn up the heat with phone calls, emails, petititons, letters to editor, blogs, signs, comment letters, radio spots, rallies, newspaper advertising etc. Organizations and clubs could send out news releases opposing this project. We only have 3 weeks left to officially weigh in. Then they close the door and go their merry way. We should host some public meetings of our own and let people speak out about their concerns. Make headlines in a civil way. DO IT!!!!!! Haven't been following this since last year Bo. You saying the Marines don't need the land for training? Yes we do need land to train on Don. There is more land to the East of the base that can serve the same purpose as JV. The days of running three Battaloins side by side into combat are long gone. This is the reason they want JV. I think it is going to come down to an eminent domain issue and the Hammers will just be taken. But, I am not giving up my land without a fight. HOrnbrod
Done shipmate. C'mon guys, take the to time write and try and save JV. I don't even wheel, but I realize the importance of this effort. If this public land goes away, it marks the beginning of the end for wheeling as we know it. At least make an effort.

SW86
hate to be the kill joy again but come on guys, its the goverment. they don't care about the people. if they want something, its going to happen. no matter who they put out. just like my friends up in MO that had to fight the power company from cutting down their woods to run EVEN more power lines. they fought it and lost. they got an insult of amount of money and now have a $#!&load of woods missing and huge highwires running across almost all of their 550 acres. sure they paid to own the land but if the goverment wants to do something, they will. :headpop: i do hope that they don't take over JV though. ive always wanted to wheel there and always keep up with king of the hammers. hell i wanted to attend it one day............ Offroaders feed those communities. This issue is key in making our case against the 29 Palms Marine Corps base expansion. gather information on dollars and time spent in the Johnson/Lucerne Valley and surrounding towns. (Surrounding towns include: Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley, etc.) please let them know the following: 1) How many trips do you make to Johnson Valley a year? (approx) 2) Where do you travel from? Do you travel up the 15 and then through Hesperia, Victorville, Apple Valley or do you drive the back way through Morongo, Yucca Valley and travel the 247? 3) Where do you normally purcahse your fuel, groceries, firewood, misc supplies for your desert trips? Is it your home towns or do you spend money in the towns surrounding Johnson/Lucerne Valley? 4) When you do purchase gas, groceries, firewood, hardware, restaurant or misc purchases in the towns surrounding Johnson Valley what is your estimated spending and in which surrounding town? (Apple Valley, Lucerne, Yucca Valley, etc) 5) If you had to estimate the value of the rigs you bring to Johnson Valley what would that be? (Truck, toyhauler, motorcycles, race cars or trucks, support vehicles and equipment) Thank you,
