Donkey
Well guys its been awhile since posting a lot of things have taken priority over the manche but it is finally time to start giving it a little attention. Recently I parked the manche after purchasing my brothers 04 TJ that has been my daily driver for the last 8 months. The Jeep is on 37s and drives great but is just to much to drive everyday with as much as I drive for work. The plan was to replace it was a LJ Rubicon but they are just ridiculously priced so I have decided to go a different route. I am going to finish the body work and begin looking for a wrecked 97 up XJ with as low of miles I can find, that is 4 wheel drive and has cruise control. I have access to a couple of wholesale salvage auctions, so I am hoping that will give me some verity to choose from. I am going to paint it impact orange because I freaking love that color. I will be looking for a fiber glass camper shell to color match to the truck. I am going to eventually put it on tires just under 33s with a 8.8 in the rear. Planning on trying to get this done by mid January to get back to work on some other projects and to sell the TJ before I put even more miles on it. While i won't have updated pictures of the manche up until after this weekend and won't have any real exciting pictures till the weekend following this coming one, ill post up some pictures of my recent distractions. We took 3rd place at Durhamtown in B Class- it was our first race and hopefully not the last, but racing is on the back burner till i get richer :laughin: For now its just wheeling trips and we just got back from GrayRock Finally my most recent money pit / pain in the @$$, my friend sold me the krawler hauler uhaul...we are no longer friends

Donkey
whats the inside of the krawler hauler look like? or is it just empty haha The back is empty except for the over hang above the cab which i already enclosed and made a small room when i get a chance ill post up some pictures. Does this mean we won't be seeing your truck on TV anymore as a test vehicle? Probably not, atleast until its done, and even then with it being in good condition i would only let them use it if they are doing something cool to it or getting some cool for it. your avatar looks likes its from citrus, county, nice jeep Yep it was in citrus, good time for only being two wheel drive, probably the best time iv ever had in Citrus it made it challenging. Donkey
Well the bed is primered, still a few problem areas but overall turned out pretty good. I will address these areas on final prep before spraying the base coat, probably with help from a person who does body work.
Donkey
Will the throttle cable transfer over from the donor 97 up XJ, or do I use the same one that I use now.

Donkey
Been busy the last two weekend and have really made some progress. Right now the parents are letting me use the garage so I'm trying to get as much done while I have access to it.
Donkey
A few things not shown is I got the steering and brake support moved over, who ever was in charge of spot welding on the 99 XJ was determined to make sure the brackets never came off. Also got the a/c and heater core box moved over, I have two spots on the upper lip extended to bolt in the top of the dash but still have 3 or 4 more spots to do. I still have the bracket holding the small electric module to mount and the fuse block on the passenger side kick panel area to do. By the end of next weekend I am hoping to have the dash ready to be bolted in after paint the seat brackets moved over from the xj and a section of the trans tunnel replaced where it looks like some dropped a 200 pound block on it. I also changed the name of the thread as this vehicle has gone in a completely different direction then I ever could have imagined when I bought it. Donkey
Not a picture update but things are still moving along pretty good, between work, school, and other things popping up I haven't gotten as much done as id like. I got the doors swapped over, latches, seats, and fixed the driver side floor. Managed to get the back glass out and body work around it, I also put por15 in the windshield frame as I had a little bit of rust (only rust iv found on the truck). Should be painting the engine bay, door jams, interior and windshield areas in the next week or two.
Donkey
Some updates finally getting the firewall and back window area to paint took some time. The rest of the engine bay which is frame will be por15 and so will the interior. And for the color I decided on 05-06 jeep wrangler impact orange Also last night I noticed 4 hole on the front of the frame that looks like they are spaced correctly to bolt a winch to, haven't had time to put one up and see just curious if anyone knows if that is indeed the case. Thanks and enjoy hopefully things will move along more quickly now.
Donkey
The paint I am doing a nason single stage for the door jams and engine bay, then for the exterior I will be putting down the nason single stage but also finishing it off with a limco clear coat. The wiring nightmare, I did figure out how to use the entire xj harness including the pigtails from the rear lights in to the MJ housing. (still have a few things I'm changing but once that's done ill be posting it up) The poor old XJ
RockMJ
Nice progress man, the impact orange is a nice color in the daylight. When I did my first MJ I went with the Mango Tango/Toxic Orange color and it came out awesome! Nice to see you still have her and shes getting an overhaul.
