I've just bought an '86 4x4 with a craptastic V6. I'm hoping to do an engine swap eventually, although I still don't have a plan as to what engine, just something "better".

I've got an '87 ranger 4x4, V6, Auto that's going to the Junkyard. Are there any parts on the ranger that I should think about saving for potential upgrades on the Jeep?

Thanks.

I do have an Aluminum cap for it. It's not on the ranger, so it wasn't going to go with it. I haven't checked to see if it will fit the Jeep yet... I guess I was mostly wondering if the rear axle, transfer case, etc. could be of any use down the road, before I let them go & have to buy something else.

front axle is a ttb d35...junk, rear axle is a 7.5in...junk, t-case isnt worth the time to swap over....your best bet is to part it out and use the money you get to upgrade your jeep then send the rest to the scapper

I actually Just dropped the title off at the JY on my lunch break. Not sure when they are picking it up, If it's still there when I get home I'll pull them off.

If it has an 8.8 that would be worth keeping lol. Otherwise the center console/seats I would say. I like my 60/40 seats in my ranger. I would also consider the rear leafs? nice to have some of those sitting around sometimes. Catalytic converter = Free $75 bucks! The plastic cup holders are handy dandy!

IIRC the ranger 8.8 is the wrong width for our trucks
