kyleag89 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Can I get away with using stock shocks in the front and rear with 2.5" lift front and 2" lift rear?
nameless Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Can I get away with using stock shocks in the front and rear with 2.5" lift front and 2" lift rear? why not just get the correct size shocks? i'm sure you could do it but it wouldn't be very ideal
kyleag89 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Well the truck will be street driven only and I want to run my 31" wheels so that's why I am lifting it.
mvusse Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Put your 31" tires on your stock wheels (assuming they are 7" wide, not the 6" wide steelies) and no lift is needed for 31s.
alleydog Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 your truck is probably sagged an inch anyway, so raising it 2" is really only 1" over. I bet they'll work
Eagle Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Well the truck will be street driven only and I want to run my 31" wheels so that's why I am lifting it. I assume you mean 31" tires, not wheels. You don't have to lift to run 31s. I'm running 31s on my '88 XJ with no lift, and I ran them on the '88 MJ even after I unlifted it.
mnkyboy Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I've been running stock shocks on my XJ with a 3" lift with no issues. I have new shocks for it,just haven't found the motivation to put them on.
kyleag89 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 The wheels on the red XJ in my sig are the ones I'm using. They are Mickey Thompson baja wheels so I don't want stock rims. I also hate how the stock wheels stick inside the fender flares I think it looks dumb.
