Horn

My horn stopped working today, and my buzzer before you start the truck sounds like its dieing. any thoughts on why this would be happening?

Check the fuses first of course

Is your truck stick or auto? If stick then I'd bet on brake fluid eating your fuse panel.

Put a meter on the wire that connects to the plastic horn behind the bumper.

If you don't get 12v it's electrical, if you do get the volts, it the horn.

My horn had died and I still had the voltage, so I swapped it out with a dual trumpet air horn set up from O'Reillys and now my horn works for sure.

My lights dim a little when I toot it but it's damn loud!

ok thanks thats a good idea. well today my buzzer worked then my horn did for a min then quit. now it has not worked all day. I use my horn alot so this rly sucks

Pull the steering wheel off and clean/sand all horn parts. Mine stopped working due to rusty contacts in the column, a light sand and it works great now. :thumbsup:

:agree: It's caused by intermittent contact between the spring loaded grounding pin and the rotating plate under the horn button. Lightly sand both to shiny metal w. 0000 steel wool, then smear a thin coat of dielectric grease on all moving parts to prevent further corrosion.

Ok well i will try that today thank ya'll so much i took it to shop class and they just kinda looked at it hit it a few times and said yep its broke :doh: and i have to use my horn when all of the dam old people are coming down now and they drive like idiots :ack: thanks again

check that ground behind your left tail light. Also could be the multifunction switch (light knob assembly). Just a guess

Pull the left side t/lite , ground is directly behind :wavey:
