MJ86YJ90 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I can't figure it out i tested the battery (a new battery) with volt meter while engine was off then with it running it had higher volts when running which would indicate the alternator is good? but the light stays on on the dash. I also have new belts and they are nice and tight too.
james750 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 14.9 is a little bit high, but it is still in an acceptable range. It could be a voltage regulator problem. Does the voltage spike if you increase RPMS?
MJ86YJ90 Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 no it doesnt stays at 14.9 could it be a faulty battery light? or maybe even the alternator before i put the new battery in and the belt was loose it wouldn't stay on while driving now its on all the time
dasbulliwagen Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Mine does that when the fuse to the cluster looses good contact, I wiggle it around, it makes contact again, and the light goes out.... check the fuses.
MJ86YJ90 Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 hmmm could be a fuse issue since the seat belt light stays on constantly now too and it never did
Geonovast Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Does it appear that the clutch master cylinder ever leaked onto the fuse box?
MJ86YJ90 Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 no but a few of the fuses were corroded ill try cleaning it all up
MJ86YJ90 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 fixed its the dumb fuses when they are rattled just a bit loose they cause a light to go on. I just reach down and push and out they go lol just one of he little quarks
