bigd44889 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 anyone know how to change the pinon bearings in a d 35
mvusse Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Not off hand. Last time I had a D35 apart was like 10 years ago. Quick fix that may or may not work: tighten the pinion nut a bit more.
mjtjnj Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 it's a pain. you have to remove the axle shafts, the carrier you have to remove the pinion nut, pinion and, pinion gear/race put on new bearing, pound in race, reassemble. you doing this on or off the truck?
bigd44889 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 i think i found a 8.25 for it :clapping:
Bounty Hunter Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 i think i found a 8.25 for it :clapping: that's a much better way to replace pinion bearings
kastein Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 i think i found a 8.25 for it :clapping: that's a much better way to replace pinion bearings  X2 :D I have done gear lube, brake cylinders, and a new cover on my d35... brake cylinders can be reused on an 8.25 and I got the cover for free. When I get some free time the 8.25 I have is going into the MJ  and the d35 is being gutted for parts.
bigd44889 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 :clapping: deal has been cut i'm getting the 8.25 if all goes right it might be under the mj by this weekend :clapping:
