90 4.0 I6 elec. fan

Did the 90 comanche with the 4.0 I6 automatic and 4x4 have the electric fan or is it only the clutch fan? I could not find the wiring for it like on the 88 5 speed i have. There is also no sensor in the radiator.

To my knowledge the MJ only came with an E fan if it was equipt with A/C from the factory but don't hold me to that :dunno:

My 88 MJ has the wiring for the fan. I have a 5 speed with A/C. I can't say if yours is set up for it.

 

When I got the MJ had no fan. I got a nice curved blade fan off of a 95-96 XJ at the local junkyard. There are certainly mounting spots on the radiator support and you COULD just wire in a fan directly to a switch on your dash. Junkyard fans are about $10-$15. They should have a battery setup to test the fan motor. Pull one, test it, install it, wire it. Good to go.

Yeah min e is the 4.0 with automatic and no a/c. Mounts are there but no wiring. Just wanted to know if it was suppose to have one. Thanks for the info.

odd, my 89 4.0 came with a E fan and a clutch fan

That's what I thought and that's why I asked. My 88 4.0 with 5 speed and a/c has the elec. fan.

I feel like when a Mj rolled off the line they said "F**k it put a E fan in there" Then another would come out and they'd go "Nah not this gal"
