88pioneer's 89 elminator

Recommended Posts

Well i decided to sell the 92 in search of something a little more highway friendly, as I am making a lot of trips to the VA/MD area in the next few months. Picked this up today, 89 eliminator, 4.0 2wd d35 5spd. Almost 190k on the clock, runs like and drives like a champ. Overall a real clean truck for living in north jersey its whole life. Plans for the time being are a few minor upgrades, and maybe a spray in liner. Once time an money permits, a mild lift, 31's, 97+ conversion (nose and doors), silver paint and black eliminator graphics. Enough of the yappin, here's some pics

And the temporary group shot :( , wish i had money to keep both

Got a little work done today. Washed a lot of the mud of the undercarriage, and found a lot of the factory undercoating still on the frame jamminz.gif Also put on a set 97+ mirrors. It was a quick, simple upgrade. Much better than the old mirrors.

Salt pisses me off too, but its made it 21 years of NJ road salt, one more shouldn't do too much more damage, i'm slowly working on winterizing it anyway. Got a few little visuals done, painted the wheels metallic dark gray, and painted the tailgate letters. Also got a pic from when i did the exhaust.

Plans for now are DD status, come spring i'll be buying a new truck, and the 89 will become the project. Initially it was going to be a small lift, and a few upgrades. Now i'm thinking D44 front and rear, long arms, locked front and rear and some meaty 35's. Who knows if that plan will stay, too many ideas in my dome :chillin:

Well made some good progress today. All the bad pieces are off minus the hood. Engine compartment is more or less straightened out, and radiator is out. Now just need to find a parts cherokee, an we'll be in buisness. Sorry no pics yet, worked into the dark

Getting closer to getting it back on the road. Picked up all the front end pieces, hood, fenders, bumper, header panel, an all the assorted little pieces for $120  . Got the fenders on an the bumper is sorta on. Put the header on to see what it will look like. Now just need to fix the cooling system.
