MjPioneer
Thought I'd vent. It's 4am, I need to be at work at 7:30. I just spent the last 45minutes reasoning with the police not to arrest my brother. I got a phone call from my sister in law saying I had to come over and get my brother because he is freaking out and she is scared of him. So being responsable I drag myself out of the sheets trying not to wake the wife (But what are the odds, I did) got dressed quickly,, put the doors back on my mj andh headed out to my brothers house. I arrived half expecting to get in a fist fight with my brother over this but what I found when I arrived was my sister in law chasing him through the house screaming. Well that didn't last long (I can't stand family fights and always try to break them up) I brought my brother outside and talked to him, apperently they had some friends over and after a night of drinking they got into a arguement over wallpaper...... which ended in my sister in law freaking out out my brother and calling the police, then calling me telling me that my brother was losing it. Well it wasn't long before the police came and wanted to haul my brother in for doing nothing and wrongfully having the police called on him. I had to really pull some strings to let it slide. As we all kno police are prone to doing as they are told, so when a women calls at 3:30am and says her husbands freaking out on her they are going to want to take him in, even if it isn't the truth. So after a long conversation with the ever so freindly police off they went, they didn't seem to want to go but they did. I ended up bringing my brother back to my house to crash on the couch, I couldn't feed him to the lions by leaving him there. My wife thankfully back to sleep but I feel I'm in for it when she gets up. Working on the Rovers in the morning is going to be a treat with 3 hours of sleep! Just thought I'd vent this on to you guys
mvusse
After the local police got tired of calls to break up domestic arguments only to be called back to the same house a few hours later they made it policy to haul someone to the local jail for 24 hours. Doesn't matter who, but if they are call for a domestic dispute, SOMEONE is going to jail. Usually the person who did not make the call, but if one person shows marks (bruises, scratches etc.) and the other does not the one without goes. Akula69
Wallpaper, huh.... Police tend to be a little more intense on domestic calls because it is the second most dangerous type of call we go on (traffic stops are first). Usually someone goes to jail because (1) there is evidence of a physical fight and (2) someone is gonna be pissed that the police were called...and when we leave it only gets worse and we have to come back. I usually make one party leave and not come back for the night rather then go the jail route if I can, but in another jurisdiction a cop did that and the man came back and murdered the woman afterwards. You did the right thing by taking him to your house and defusing the situation.
jimoshel
I've had several cops tell me they would rather have a shoot out with a known desperado than have to deal with a domestic situation.
kastein
been there before... except not related to either party. I was the only sober friend within driving range who could show up and rescue a good friend of mine from his psychopath girlfriend. She had gone to bed sick and insisted he join her, then some friends called up and he snuck out to hang out with them (all mutual friends of both of theirs, and mine) and figured he'd sneak back in afterwards. Well, she woke up and he wasn't there, so she worked herself into a righteous/histrionic rage and prepared for his return. When he got back he found half his belongings had been thrown out the window into the parking lot, some onto people's cars, and the rest had been hurled out of their room into the living room, and she was so worked up she couldn't even string a coherent sentence together, and mostly focused on screaming incoherently at him while saying that he needed to leave now and never come back, but also that he needed to immediately remove all his stuff from the place... while trying to push him out the door. By the time I got there, she was even angrier and wasn't even making words anymore (she's a real piece of work, let me tell you) and so we mostly focused on a semi-organized and rapid retreat from the living room into the hall carrying as much of his stuff as we could, then locked the door and loaded everything into my jeep... finally got it all carried to his place a few blocks away and unloaded and what do you know? she comes flying up the street in her car, blocks my jeep into the driveway, and insists that he get in the car and go back with her. yep. she's fricken insane. Sadly he complied and they're still together two years later, and still having episodes like this every few months, fortunately by this point he's ready to bail out and we've been slowly moving his stuff out of their shared place and into his new place in a town 30 miles away where no one but him, me, and my brother know the street address, one of these weekends we're gonna pull out all the stops while she's gone, grab everything else he owns and just disappear. He's pretty tired of it by now.
JeepcoMJ
it's stupid that just because you have a vagina means you MUST be the victim.
