88pioneer Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 In the market for new tires and wheels. I'm most likely going to run BFG KM2's in the 33x10.5 flavor. I've got Cragar D windows now, but they have ridiculous amounts of back spacing to the point where my 11.5's nearly rub the rear frame rails. I'm looking into either cragar D windows again, or soft 8's. Either one will have 4 inch back spacing an be a 15x8, just looking for opinions from people on either one, which one you like better
Pete M Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 TJ canyons. may favorite rim ever. 15x8 with "jeep" backspacing.
88pioneer Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 i would consider some nice canyons, but i like black, and most jeep wheels i find around here are for waaaaay too much
88pioneer Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 o i know that, 3 of the 4 jeeps i've owned have had spray painted wheels :clapping:
jpdocdave Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 i'm a fan of d windows more than soft 8's. soft 8's are on every tj it seems.
Automan2164 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I LOOOVE black steels, and have always had a chubby for these... Rob L.
jpnjim Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 If you haven't bought the tires yet, why not get KM2's in 255/85-16's? Mine tuck in nicely on factory 16x7's (5.25"bs), even with a slightly narrower than stock rear, they aren't that close to the rear 'frame': I don't really have any good pics that show the tires.
1990 Pioneer 4x4 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Wow, two trucks with matching license plates - what are the odds of that…?
DJM/78 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I LOOOVE black steels, and have always had a chubby for these... Rob L. Yep , those are sweet , I was thinking of something in that flavor for the street Jeep .
jpnjim Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Wow, two trucks with matching license plates - what are the odds of that…? I 'painted' in an extra '8' on the Grandpa Jeep just to keep things legit. ;)
88pioneer Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 thats the thing i don't like about stock wheels, no tire poke. I don't like ridiculous amounts of tire sticking out, but a little bit looks good. My tires sit flush with the flares now, and with the 5" lift it looks too skinny.
Pete M Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 TJ rims stick out 1" more than the regular 15x7s since they are 15x8. :D wheel spacers in the rear will make the rear match the front.
88pioneer Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 and theres my other problem, i just bought an 8.8 so thats gonna need spacers just to get it to stock width
DJM/78 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 and theres my other problem, i just bought an 8.8 so thats gonna need spacers just to get it to stock width Or different offset wheels ...
Pete M Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 you might want those spacers regardless of wheel choice. even with a stock MJ axle, the bed is wider than the front.
