replacing gas line

I just put a 4.0L in my MJ

 

when I took the engine out I noticed that the gas line where pressurized and they had a quick disco at the entry of the fuel rail

is there any way I can replace those with bulk gas line?

can I cut the original one from the cherokee and make a joint in it?

I've never had to replace a fuel line. :dunno: and I live in southern michigan no less.

I've seen a couple of cases where people have used bulk fuel hose and clamps on the outlet side of the fuel rail but not the inlet. However, I'm a true believer in using factory specs for things like fuel lines. Seen too many bad results from fuel leaks. My neighbor has set his mustang on fire twice now. :nuts:

I've used rubber gas line on my 93 Yukon for a couple years. I have it all the way from the gas tank to the throttle body and on the return line. You have to be sure you get SAE-30R10 hose. It is the only hose rated for pressurized fuel injection lines. A lower grade can be used on the return line but I'd stick with the good stuff. You have to secure it with nylon clamps about every 12 inches.

The stock fuel pressure line is stainless steel from the fuel filter to the quick disconnect for the hard plastic flexible line that crosses from the frame to the intake manifold bracketry. I've never had a fuel pressure line go bad on me (on two extremely rusty jeeps) but I have had that blasted quick disconnect rust through since it is regular steel.
