Bo322
GREAT read! I've been a CJ guy since the late 60's. Still have 7 of them. I recently bought an 88 Comanche, 4.0, short box that is in amazing shape and will be driving it daily from here on out. I love this thing! I'm new to this forum so haven't had an opportunity to browse through much info yet..... I'm looking to install a lift so I naturally HAD to read your thread. I don't plan to off-road this truck but want to lift it and run 33's with plenty of clearance. What are your thoughts on 4.5" lift vs 6.5" ? I've had real good luck with Skyjacker on the CJ's but want to do the right thing for my MJ when I lift it. Also, where did you get your headliner? BTW, Congrats on the birth of your son

wannabeMJ
if you got a pc and webcam near by you should do a live feed :D yeah but that would take away valuable wrenching time :fool: got a few things done today took off the rear diff cover rusty a bit time to clean it then some paint also took the gear stamping and still looking to confirm the 4.11 ratio since the tag is unreadable if I'm doing this right the last 3 numbers are 37 and 9 so 37/9=4.111111111111111111111 hummmm got to love math :jump:
wannabeMJ
also time to finish the interior installed the sun visor and some new pedal covers also changed the TRE at the pitman arm new one on top took off the 2 sided tape off the emblems but the paint on them look's like crap still wondering how to fix them before I put them on the truck and also prep the tail light for a touch of paint to take off that chrome trim

wannabeMJ
well it seams that the truck doesn't wanna go on the road Ive finished everything I had to do but when I double checked some things popped up 1- the flashers won't work properly and the hazards don't work either the pass one flashes like it has a burn one and the driver one is burning the fuse each time I've check the grounds in the driver fender checked the sockets for all the flashers 2- the engine started making weird noise to like I got a valve sticking or some like that Ive posted a vid of it in the tech sect hopefuly getting an answer soon so I can drive the s*cker anyway here is a couple pics that I took while letting the engine warm up these are from saturday night watching tv and painting the emblems

wannabeMJ
ok the flasher in the front are working fine and the rear pass to found out I don't have voltage going to the rear driver one I got voltage at the 157 conector but nothing at the back of the truck so I'm guessing the wire is bad somewhere I'll be replacing it soon and hopefuly that will fix it also redid de G102 just to make sure and I tought I had the wiring wrong when I did the XJ to MJ harness :thwak: but no its all good the only thing I can think of that might have damage the wire is: those are the wire running along the door and where it goes by 3 screws that hold the moulding before going under the truck
wannabeMJ
did fix the flasher today so I'm happy with that but the engine is still making some bad noise still waiting on my mechanic buddy to show up :peek:

wannabeMJ
well I wanted to go for a drive today but my clutch slave said otherwise I started the truck yesterday and drove it in the garage to work on the valves and this morning I had a pudle of brake fluid under it so I jumped in the truck and WHAT???????? no f*cking clutch pedal, straight to the floor now I'm just about to set the truck on fire and dance around it and claim insanity
