Ok just a couple quick questions to make sure, in order to swap to a manuel in my 88 LWB AW-4 4x4,

I need,

1. AX-15 (out of a 96 or newer in order to get external slave?)

2. Transfer Case with AX-15 (because spline count is different?)

3. A Shorter drive shaft, or cut mine down ( I want to go shorter right?)

4. and clutch pedal and assembly...

You might consider getting the ECU from a jeep with a stick, itll idle at lower revs, and you don't necessarily need a t case from behind an AX15, any later t cases from a 23 spline outupt AW4 work

I know that some of the engine sensors are different (TPS for example). not completely sure, but you might need a different engine wiring harness as well.

He can keep the same TPS from the AW-4, it'll idle a little higher is all. No harness changes with the exception that the AW-4 TCU will not be used or hooked up any more. The TCU is a stand alone system, no changes will need to be done with it unless you want to remove it

Trans mount

1.TC linkage, tranny side is specific

2. Renix flywheel

3. Pilot bushing

1. what does that mean?

2. there should already be a flywheel on my motor right?

3. why and what is that?

for your forst question I'm not sure, but for #2 you don't have a flywheel youve got a flexplate. flexplate=auto flywheel = manuel and i don't know the answer to #3 either . hpoe i helped abit

1. Each transmission has a specific transfercase linkage bracket where it mounts to the transmission.

2.Auto transmission has a flex plate, kind if thin, the torque converter bolts to it. The torque converter acts like a flywheel, among other things in a auto trans.

3.There is a hole in the end of the crankshaft, it's not used in an auto, but on a manual transmission, the input shaft (pilot shaft)

fits into the end of the crankshaft, there is a "pilot" bearing or bushing there to support the front of the pilot shaft.
