1991MJPioneer
I've always wondered how rare it was to find a 1991/1992 MJ...and what drivetrain options were most difficult to find...I would suppose the AX-15 and D44 would top the list....As much as I'd love to build a bad nasty rig out of my MJ...I really don't want to tear up a rare Jeep by lifting it and modifying it excessively....I can't say my MJ is in very good condition...but I'd love to restore it... And no I don't want to give my VIN...but my build date was 9-1990 and it has the skid plate option.... Thanks!
Automan2164
Some of the hardest to find, yet most sought after MJ's... Late model 4.0L with more power, the better of the manual trans's, and the newest ones available. Not many made, and the last of an ERA. Cherish it my friend. Rob L. CRF136N
And no I don't want to give my VIN...but my build date was 9-1990 and it has the skid plate option.... Thanks! Never understood...why is it some people are so wierd about the VIN on their vehicle? And for that matter, license plates (being blocked out or blurred in pics)? Its information anyone can get by looking at the vehicle, but cannot easily be duplicated :dunno: Anyway, not to steal your thread...just curious. -James

jimoshel
Some low life sticky fingered thieving SOB sees the vehicle and wants it, he can run the plates and find out where it's parked. A little harder but still doable is running the VIN.
dasbulliwagen
If you give just the last 8 or 9 of your vin, us Chrysler techs can try to get some info for you, you can even PM it if you feel ok about it. I think the later years of MJ Chrysler still has some info on, and is still accessable.

Automan2164
Plus, there are a TON more ways to find someones address. If someone wants it, they will get it. This is an age of technology, and information. A plate or VIN won't hurt. If someone has it out for you, they aren't going to stop just because they can't get your info from your MJ. Rob L. CRF136N
:rotf: OK, I got it now. I for some reason never saw it that way, always thought there was the concern of someone "stealing" a vehicles "identity" or something :shake: It just never made sence until now. FORTUNATELY, I don't think I have too much to worry about driving a base model POS subaru and an MJ...not too many people set and determined to steal those, I can see the concern with high dollar cars though. thats why we have guns.....  -James

Automan2164
They actually made 952 MJ's in '92... There were 3,181 total '92's made. I have the production numbers on my old site: http://www.comanchemj.1hwy.com Look in the history section near the bottom. Rob L.

LOL :rotfl2: :rotf: :shake: And for the record...not much for custom plates here, but I somehow wound up with one on each of my vehicles, and I got no problem showing them off as I like them both :D But to think you wasted my time typing those damn VIN numbers :wall: :fool: They are probably not right anyway, cause you get 5 or 6 in and all the numbers and letters start to mix together in a string of confusion, and I am still a look-at-keyboard when I type person, so there is bound to be an error in there somewhere   -James
