Geonovast
The dash or the gauge cluster? Physical dash, yes. Gauge cluster, no. You'll need one from an 86-90.
XXLMJ
If you have an 88 MJ with dummy lights and no gauges, would Gauges from a 90 XJ fit? And is it a plug and play thing or do you have to cut wires?

And is it a plug and play thing or do you have to cut wires? Should be a direct swap. Just plug in the two connectors ond the speedo cable to the new one. You just have to swap the oil and temp senders from the ones for the idiot lights to the ones for gauges.
88SporTruck
In what year did they switch from a cable operated speedo to an electronic one? 1991?

The tach wiring is already there, and since most 88-90 clusters with tach are from vehicles with the 6-cylinder engine, you don't have to worry about recalibrating a tach from 4-cyl to 6-cyl. No need to replace senders if you already have gauges. And if you want your odometer to read correctly, since you already have the trip meter you can just swap speedos in the cluster, or perhaps swap odometers between the two clusters if the font style is different between the two speedos. greg
:Canadaflag: Thanks, i was hoping that was all i had to do, time to give my old Comanche a little upgrade, thanks for the tips also. i think there's a trick in releasing the speedo cable too, push in and turn? i'll be careful. If you want to retain your "old school" blue gauge font (much prefer), try to locate a full gauge/tach cluster from an 87 XJ. 1987 4.0L was the only year where the old school fonts are plug and play with 88-90 Renix 4.0 rigs. 86 and below cluster does not work. The newer Japanese font looks out of place in our trucks IMO. I got mine from an '87 Wagoneer 4.0L. Good luck!

All the blue faced clusters do that. When you turn the key on, right before you start the engine, the tach should jump down to zero.
