dfreeman616 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 ...of the underemployed. As of January 2nd, my job is being cut to part time (my birthday, ironically enough). At least I have a couple months to find something. Anyone know of some good jobs in the Grand Rapids, MI area? Or a really good job somewhere else? I only have half a college degree right now. I have my state license to be a mechanic. Update: So I found a job as a mechanic at a local shop, I start Monday :D

I know you have the little one to take care of too! If you lived in Penang, Malaysia, were right out of college, and IT Guru and would work for about $5/hr I could probably set you up with something... :mad: Offshoring, the new "American Way"...YUK!

dfreeman616 Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 yea if i didn't have a mortgage and a family to provide for, running might be more of an option. i'd rather live where there be mountains. by the way pete, i did finally start on those floors on my mj, and found some rust holes where the floor pan meets the firewall on both sides. i'm working on prepping, patching, then por15.

driverdave Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I am kind of in the same boat here out of work for a few months but no degree when I did find a full time job I lost it because I broke my hand and wrist 2 days before starting, now I'm back to house painting 2 days a week until the snow hits then unemployed again. I have been a house painter 15+ yrs and decided at the wrong time to change jobs. I wish this econemy would turn around so all of us out of workj could make ends meet, fortunately we have our jeeps to tinker with while out of work.
