My dealer can't quite deal with the fact that the o rings for the older 4.0 motor uses different o rings. Can some one confirm this and is there anyway to switch to the adapter from the newer motors and if so what years. I tried searching and came up with alot of hits but no answers.

Well, you can do it 2 ways.

1) Go to a partshouse and orde/ask for the Help brand kit, 82560. It is an "O"ring pack that services GM, Jeep, and Chrysler.

2) Go to the Dealership parts counter and sk for pt# 53007563AB. It is the threaded "insert" to change to the late oil filter.

And Yes, you can swap to the late adpater, if you want to.

on the earlier 4.0's, like my renix(just did the o-rings), the part numbers are three separate o-rings: 33002970, 33002971, and 33002972. one of each.

Many thanks guys rings are ordered from dealer along with the insert to switch to the newer filter style. I am going to turn my housing 90 deg`s will let you know how this all goes.
