sinkrun
My dealer can't quite deal with the fact that the o rings for the older 4.0 motor uses different o rings. Can some one confirm this and is there anyway to switch to the adapter from the newer motors and if so what years. I tried searching and came up with alot of hits but no answers. ren
Well, you can do it 2 ways. 1) Go to a partshouse and orde/ask for the Help brand kit, 82560. It is an "O"ring pack that services GM, Jeep, and Chrysler. 2) Go to the Dealership parts counter and sk for pt# 53007563AB. It is the threaded "insert" to change to the late oil filter. And Yes, you can swap to the late adpater, if you want to.
Wildman
Or.......you can use the part numbers from this link to tell your dealer what O-rings you need - http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Eng ... -Rings.htm The problem with the "help" kit, there are 10 O-rings you don't need, and the large one you do need is not in the kit.........found this out the 'hard' way

HellBent
on the earlier 4.0's, like my renix(just did the o-rings), the part numbers are three separate o-rings: 33002970, 33002971, and 33002972. one of each.
