DansGreyMj
i was reading on what components were included and it comes with 4.5 zj coils and a 2" spacer, wouldnt that give about 7" of lift up front, does anyone have a side veiw of an unmodified re6500 jit with 33s
feerocknok
My guess is it's 6.5", given the 6500. I would also think you could fit 35s under that with a lil trim trim. Both educated assumptions, but don't wanna get your post too buried.
rbostoncaxjmj
I'm running the RE6500 kit but still on 30s. Holding off till funds are avail for larger tires. Anyway, I think my lift measured 11" between the top of tire and bottom fende. I still have stock front/rear bumpers, no winch, no camper or add'l weight on the MJ. Before the lfit, it measured 4" between top of the tire and fender w/same 30s tires before the lift. Yeah, to answer your question - it's about extra 7" after the lift. Let me double check tomorrow when there's more light! Ron
DirtyComanche
Just so you know... What's the spring rate on those ZJ coils? 180lb/in? That means for BOTH coils to compress an inch, you have to add 360lbs to the front end of the truck! I dunno about you, but that's a heavy bumper. Pete M
I picked 180 lb coils over the 150s for my 88. I haven't noticed it being overly stiff in any way, but I guess it can be hard to tell with that dang Ford suspension. Plus heaven only knows how much lift I got or how much sag has happened. I never really took any measurements. I do have a pretty heavy bumper though... No problems with compression here. My fenders hated me until I got the bumpstops extended. They still hate me, just not as much. :D
feerocknok
Maybe this would show the flex better for ya, Pete. rbostoncaxjmj - If you measure from the hub to flare, you'll know the height no matter the tires on it. Could you whip that out for us?
Pete M
Yeah, but it's self-clearancing. :D
DansGreyMj
the kit comes with a t case drop, and it said to install an sye ive heard that on an mj u don't need that, by the way i have a swb my with a d35 that will be replaced with a d44 when the kit is installed
Pete M
A Dana 44 is a bit longer in the pinion than the Dana 35 and so that should be a perfect match for the little bit that the lift will pull the driveshaft away from the t-case.
