Anyone know if JS3 will allow spring over MJs in 07?

Nice work Weezel! I like the Moab rims! Gives it a modern look!

Exactly! Now the question is - who makes it?

Roll bar on my Comanche: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbostonca ... pg&.src=ph CW, it's so difficult finding an original MJ rollbar as you well know - let alone in good condition and reasonable price. With this said, I decided to look for after market or custom roll bars. I saw a 1994 Nissan 4x4 pick-up truck w/a roll bar @ my local pick/pull. Took measurements and came back. Looked like it was going to work and it did. Had to fab rein plates for the front legs unto the floor board, and rear legs of the roll bar over the wheel wells. I have not had the chance to add lights. I already pre-wired during the roll bar install. Only thing - I don't know who made it....was it Smittybilt, Grizzly or someone else.

Here's the tent I use for my Comanche: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbostonca ... pg&.src=ph Bought it from Camping World last year. Made by Napier: http://napierenterprises.com/site/index ... &Itemid=32 I think there are 3 generations of models: original truck tent, truck tent II, and newer trunk tent III. Avail for long beds, regular cab and crew cab. And in blue or camo color. I like the idea of being high and dry when I am camping, and being able to setup tent anywhere. I would have purchased the III model but got a good price on the II model last year (Camping World was making room for III models). I ended up with the long bed version, and blue color vs camo.

I'm running the RE6500 kit but still on 30s. Holding off till funds are avail for larger tires. Anyway, I think my lift measured 11" between the top of tire and bottom fende. I still have stock front/rear bumpers, no winch, no camper or add'l weight on the MJ. Before the lfit, it measured 4" between top of the tire and fender w/same 30s tires before the lift. Yeah, to answer your question - it's about extra 7" after the lift. Let me double check tomorrow when there's more light! Ron

Me too! What's the status on the sliders! Xmas is just around the corner and that's what I want from the Mrs.

Hit your starter with a hammer! See what happens! I have an 88, and it has happended to me more than once. 1) Driving fine day before. All of a sudden next day, dead. Won't start. Took the hammer and whacked the starter; off it started! 2) Months later, driving fine again. All of a sudden drive was rough, and it just died (may be fuel related or not). But Won't start after that (suspect combo problem fuel related and starter). I hit the starter with the hammer next day (after going thru what you did....checking TPS, etc...) and it just started. Finally got it running; took it back to the garage. Didn't find any fuel related problem. One other suggestion. Another time I had "no start" again. Whacking the starter didn't help. Turned out to be the CPS. Replaced mine and walla - she started up again! Good luck!

Comanche Club swag (stickers, posters, magnets :)
rbostoncaxjmj replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
Cool! Received your email Pete. Send me your paypal ID, and put me in for a 12" decal. Going to look great on the rear window of my 88. Will be sending you $20. Should cover the sticker plus mainly donation for this site and all your help/feedback. I'd don't post a lot here but I sure lurk/read the tech tips. Sure saved me plenty of $$ and well worth the $20 imho. Jeep on and keep this site going! -
Happened to me twice now; now I carry a hammer; usually it only takes me two to three good pounding (less than a min) on the starter, and she starts up again. Will eventually replace it. But for now, have other priorities. Back track and look over your last install involving electrical. I did this to solve another no start problem of mine (diff problem from needing to pound the starter). Turned out to be break in the wire I used to install my ARB compressor. Bare wire was touching ground in the engine bay and causing the battery to drain. Anyhow, I replaced the wire; now I am good to go! Good luck finding your electrical gremlin. C yah!

Steps and Rock sliders
rbostoncaxjmj replied to Flugondus's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hey that looks great Detour! Put me on the list for your LWB rear bumper, and rock slyders when ready for sale Is that a 2" hitch receiver in the center? What's the tow rating, and do you slip the hitch pin behind the bumper? Thx! Ron -
Thanks Eagle for helping us out LWB MJs! Keep us posted Mark - look forward to getting my hands @ installing your custom slyders and rear bumper on my MJ. Thx!
-
Great to hear Mark, put me in for a pair of your slyders and rear bumper! I am one of guys who emailed you and you responded looking for LWB donor. Hope you get one! Keep us posted. Thx again - sweet looking products by the way!

Sweet XJ Maki! How did you hook-up with Detours and got them to make it for your SWB. Or did they approach you? I suppose for LWB, Detours will need to adj bracketry to support the longer pcs of metal. If you are still in contact with Detours (the guy who replied to me from Detours was Mark C), let them know there's atleast two MJ owners interested in their products for LWB. Both my MJ and XJ have the same amount of lift but the challenge with my MJ LWB is departure angle. After wheeling/climbing in mud/dirt in Hollister, and dragging the rear stock bumper, I scoop about 10-20lbs of dirt and I can sell as pre-mortar mix - LOL. I am looking for a rear bumper slim and angular in design - and strong enough that I can use as a rear skid (compensate for the LWB)! That's sweet MJ again XJ Maki!

That sucks! I posted this link on my local Jeep forum in CA: http://www.jeepnight.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/ ... 1145808634 We all hate to be in your shoes man - someone stealing our prized possession(s)! Hope you find it!

Here's pic: Here's their website: http://www.detoursusa.com/

I also emailed Detours last week and received the same reply. I like their slim profile design (rear bumper), and sliders. Curios how many more folks are interested and can get Detours interested in making rear bumper and sliders for the LWB.

Man, where have I been? Just joined this forum; like seeing all the MJs here - gives me ideas on what to do with mine e.g. custom bumpers... Here's a pic of mine with a trunk tent (loving it). Has new paint, Rubicon Express Xtreme Duty Lift for the MJ, original/clean Comanche bed liner (even says Comanhe on it), rollbar and blows cold AC. Heading out fishing with my son; might rain so I am bringing all the hardware. Looking for rock sliders, and custom front and rear bumpers next! http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/rbostonca ... pg&.src=ph
