Beautiful!...the ladder/truss bridge access to whatever that pipe and wood thing is must be a real thrill to use.

What a view!

Us Fla flatlanders never see any

hills like that.

Where is it?

Colorado of course

Thats an old power generating house:

I may have answered my own question. I was looking through some pictures and it looks like the sign on the gate says miners and hikers enter at your own risk. I wish I would have realized that at the time. I thought everything past the gate was private property. I would have loved to explore it more.

Ya vehicles not permitted, but bikers and hikers may continue on up. Goes a good ways further on up to a lake and is pretty pretty.

The view from the road looked incredible. I remember looking past the power house wishing we could go up there. Apparently we could.

Yes that is really too bad, and since your so far away its not like you will be able to just drive back over there and take a look like I can. :rotf:

Thanks Sam - great pics. My son lives not too far from there in Grand Junction and he send me some pics of this same site a couple of weeks ago. You reminded me I've got to get back out there for a visit - SOON.

Yup, and while your there you should swing by and say hi to your son.

Last night I processed 3 sets of photos from some old trips that had been sitting on my hard drive for a few years, if anyone cares to gander at them all:

Getting pumped for my 11th consecutive year exploring the summer hills of CO. Going back and camping north of Taylor Reservoir.

Great pics of the Bridal Veil Falls. Telluride: "To hell, you ride", via Black Bear Pass jamminz.gif
