wolfpackjeeper Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 cool pictures. They remind me of a house on the French Broad river in the Gorge, up in the Mtns of NC and Tenn. The thing cantilevers out on some massive posts. neato
Xacto Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Beautiful!...the ladder/truss bridge access to whatever that pipe and wood thing is must be a real thrill to use.
mjeff87 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 that's one of them decks you don't stumble out onto in the middle of the night drunk to take a leak from...... Jeff
mjdoa Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 What a view! Us Fla flatlanders never see any hills like that. Where is it?
Sir Sam Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 What a view! Us Fla flatlanders never see any hills like that. Where is it? Colorado of course  Thats an old power generating house:
reson46 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 How did you get access to the power house? I thought it was private property? :D Willy
reson46 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I may have answered my own question. I was looking through some pictures and it looks like the sign on the gate says miners and hikers enter at your own risk. I wish I would have realized that at the time. I thought everything past the gate was private property. I would have loved to explore it more. Willy
Sir Sam Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Ya vehicles not permitted, but bikers and hikers may continue on up. Goes a good ways further on up to a lake and is pretty pretty.
reson46 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 The view from the road looked incredible. I remember looking past the power house wishing we could go up there. Apparently we could. Willy

Apparently we could. Willy Yes that is really too bad, and since your so far away its not like you will be able to just drive back over there and take a look like I can. :rotf:
HOrnbrod Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Thanks Sam - great pics. My son lives not too far from there in Grand Junction and he send me some pics of this same site a couple of weeks ago. You reminded me I've got to get back out there for a visit - SOON.

Last night I processed 3 sets of photos from some old trips that had been sitting on my hard drive for a few years, if anyone cares to gander at them all: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/content/ouraylabor07.html http://www.colorado4wheel.com/content/ourayend.html http://www.colorado4wheel.com/content/ourayjun05.html
