Geonovast Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Weather's been kinda crappy lately so I've been working on this... JeepcoMJ and $500 MJ have seen it in person and they thought it was pretty cool, just wanted to see what you guys thought. Crank, Pistons, Cam, Belts, Distributor, Pushrods, Valves and even TB butterfly are all moving parts.
dasbulliwagen Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Youve got wayyyyyy toooo much flippin time on your hands!
summerinmaine Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Let me guess . . . you have looooooooooonnnnnnnnngg winters in Wisconsin, right? :brows: Very cool, BTW.
Geonovast Posted April 3, 2009 Author Posted April 3, 2009 man thats cool how long it take you to make? Between developing the parts, modification, and assembly, probably about 40ish hours, and that's starting with version 3. I've gone through a couple different ones since I was about 17, starting with a very inaccurate V8. And it's nowhere near done yet. I still have to fab up a clutch setup for the single gear trans that's behind it, then make a bellhousing to connect the 2 speed trans I've made. Then there's a T-case, axles... What compression ratio are you running? If it were an actual motor.. it'd be about 7:1ish. Can't actually measure though. :shake: Youve got wayyyyyy toooo much flippin time on your hands! Yeah, I know. Being unemployed does that to you. Let me guess . . . you have looooooooooonnnnnnnnngg winters in Wisconsin, right? :brows: Very cool, BTW. Yeah, yeah we do. Couple that with a carport instead of a garage, and you get this.
dakal Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 thats cool but i got a headache. had to turn away before i fell over
Geonovast Posted April 19, 2009 Author Posted April 19, 2009 Been doing some more work on this thing... T-case... axles... I felt I'd share an update because I successfully created a properly working double-cardan joint for the front driveshaft. There is a front axle on it but I didn't take a pic of it, because there's no knuckles/wheel joint on it yet.
