Motor Mount

We need a new Motor Mount for my MJ. My Dad picked one up at Napa a couple of days ago and today I took out the old one, only to find that it was completely different than the one Napa gave us. My Dad took it back to Napa today and they don't (apparently) have any Motor Mounts like it in "the book". So I'm wondering if anyone's replaced their Motor Mount, and happen to know if any of the online stores have them, or where I can find one? Part number maybe? I'm sure JCwhitney and the like have them listed, but I'm weary about ordering from there since I can't see the actual part, yanno?

I just replaced a motor mount on my 87 4.0 last Saturday. $19.99 from Advance Auto Parts.

It shows 4 different ones, depending on right/left, 2wd/4wd. But if you look closer you will see they are all the same part number, so it makes no difference.

The stock mounts are horrible. I rarely run across any that are not broken. Unless you really enjoy changing them get some quality mounts.

 

I have a couple of sets of MORE mounts. They are excellent and I highly recommend them. The Brown Dog mounts also appear to be way better than stock.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies, but I feel like a real douche now! My dad apparently "rounded off" what it was I actually need, which is a Transmission mount. I didn't even think about it while I was taking it off. It has that little curved groove on it that slides over the tongue on the exhaust..

It sounds like you have a peugeot tranny from the description of the mount. Teamcherokee.com has them but they are expensive

Yes, be sure you are sitting down in an extra comfy office/computer chair when you see the price, as I'm sure the Wildman and myself are doing.........

 

EDIT: The Wildman is probably sleeping in his chair now....... :D

For that price I'd be looking into making a custom mount. :ack: Maybe try to fit an AX-15 mount somehow? Not sure if they share any common bolt dimensions though. Probably not. :(

 

Heck, for that price I'd be looking into swapping in the entire AX-15. :yes:

Lol, I called the local Jeep dealer and they wanted $295 bucks for it - I'm sure dealer prices are higher than most places but, it made that 84.95 not seem so bad...

Yea, Team Cherokee seam to be the only place that sell them at a "fair" price, and if you read there add, the have them "reproduced" so they can keep the price under a C note.

 

Like I said before, some one might have a good one laying around, ask on the classifieds.

 

And no Don........I'm not sleeping in the new chair.......Yet :D
