wolfpackjeeper
I think up til 90 will have the same spline count but i am not positive. Someone will LMK if i am wrong no, you want a 1991 or later. You should have a 23 spline tcase, while the older ones from the renix era are 21 spline. So any newer t-case from a jeep cherokee will work. Pete M
A 242 allows for all-wheel drive on dry pavement without the threat of destruction. If you live where it rains or snows a lot, then the 242 will suit you well.
jtdesigns
Is the 242 strictly an AWD deal, or can you still put it in 2wd?
Eagle
Is the 242 strictly an AWD deal, or can you still put it in 2wd? The 242 is a full transfer case. It offers 2WD-Hi; 4WD-Hi (Part-Time); 4WD-Hi (Full-Time); Neutral; and 4WD-Lo (Part-Time).
