This line is imported or manufactured by reputable warehouses and distributed through big name part stores and also smaller stores like us. Boxed under a private brand, they are subjected to quality control and are warrantied. This is the best selling line for most parts stores in North America and is a very high quality part at an excellent price. The particular brand we carry is called "Chassis 1" and is distributed here in Toronto by a very reputable warehouse that also sells the same brand to a few big "Franchise Part Stores" (I'm not supposed to mention any names so I won't). We have been selling this line for the last 6 years at both of our stores without any problems. But I'd like to hear some feedback myself.. JeepcoMJ
ABORT MISSION. have these in the 3800. my front tires splay out and the axle looks bent because of them. I put them in at 66,00 miles with the 4wd conversion...they never looked right. I removed them and reinstalled...properly both times. even checked if they were offset...they are not. at 7,000 miles on them, with REGULAR greasing on top and bottom ball joints (i.e. pull axleshaft grease lower re-install every oil change). they are crap failures and the company offers no warantee or replacement. the second time I bought them (for another axle 3 months after buying the first set) I didn't use them for 3 years...when I finally did use them, it turned out that they couldn't even get it right and send me MJ upper ball joints...I ended up with dodge dakota uppers...which have the same taper but the uppers are 1" longer before the taper, so the knuckles wouldn't go on all the way. my loss for not using them right away. but...they're junk. buy local and be happy and assured. This is good feedback and should be heeded. It's not pleasant to learn the hard way by using dubious parts to save a few $$ and then experience premature failure and/or they don't work at all. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but most often you lose; at least I have by not buying parts with a proven track record.

BUT even the hardest street driving (and that's all that truck has seen) doesn't warrant failed ball joints which have been properly maintained, in under 15,000 miles. It really bothers me not knowing.. :hmm: I always thought it was pronounced the same as the old Boston Bruins goalie Andy Moog. Like Moe with a gah Moog is a family name. So I guess it's pronounced however the founder of the company wants to pronounce it. Robert Moog, the creator of the synthesizer, pronounced it to rhyme with "rogue." In a deleted scene from the DVD version of the documentary Moog, Dr. Moog describes the three pronunciations of the name Moog: the original, Dutch pronunciation ("moch"), the later, German pronunciation (the preferred, rhymes with vogue), and the more common pronunciation in English-speaking countries (with the long o sound). ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Dr. Moog reveals that different parts of his family prefer different pronunciations of the name, but he (and most certainly his wife) prefers the German pronunciation. I have a very simple family name, but everyone pronounces it wrong. :brows:
JeepcoMJ
I pronounce it like it's spelled... Moo (like a cow) with a g at the end, but not a "gah" sound. just Moo-g why are we discussing moog pronunciation lol :clapping: :dunno:
comancheman
for the record the guy at the parts store pronounced it moo-g. not that you can count on every parts guy to know what hes talking about. anyway i went with the moog bj's and ill probably do new front u-joints while I'm at it. they've been popping in 4wd for about a year
