partsmj
Would this be too crazy of a project? I got a set of axles from a M715, and a LWB Comanche.
sinnaevd
the D60 and D70? If they're the 5.67 ( i htink?) that would be pure madness with 37's or even 40's!!! i say do it :brows:
JOMJ87
Do it that would be one low crawl ratio even at 37s. i gotta use this one :teehee: couldnt resist.
Pete M
I'd do it. You may want to think about converting the front to leafs. :needpics:
partsmj
ratio's are 5.87. gotta get a camera someday.
pingpong
You don't want to do that  You want to give me those axles... so I can put them to good use driving I know where just to put them :brows: Sounds like an awesome project. don't forget to swap in the drivetrain as well and put a Howeel FI kit on it. For tires and rims re-centered H1 rims, and some 42 TSL's
wombat
why the H1 rims? I see alot of them on the trail now a days, especially on chevy's. I think that they look rediculous. is there a special power they have that I don't know about?
DirtyComanche
They're beadlocks...

For tires and rims re-centered H1 rims, and some 42 TSL's search m715 on ebay, you'll find a front and rear set for like $200. Rear was missing gears, but that's still crazy. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/m715-fro ... dZViewItem too bad they're in Idaho. I wish I could find a decent whole 715, I would wheel the hell out of it relatively stock. Not gonna break them axles :)

partsmj
Thinking of these. Combat rims and NDT tires: Technical Specs Type Nylon Cord, Non-Directional, MS (Mud & Snow) Size 9.00-16, 8 Ply (9" width on a 16" rim) 16" Split Rim maybe a set of these http://www.expeditionexchange.com/miche ... main.shtml
pingpong
The whole thing with H1 rims are they are cheap for double beadlocks... I have a set, and only paid 150 for them, keep in mind you still need to recenter them... and you need to figure a couple hundred for the new centers, and an afternoon in the garage, then you also need to add a rock ring, and I think thats another 150. I know it seems like a lot.. but they are tough as nails, if you are looking for a 16.5 inch tire, and want double locks
87manche
double locks that are DOT legal for the street no less.
pingpong
double locks that are DOT legal for the street no less. This is something that I am not sure about... I will look on my H1's and see if it has the DOT stamp... I know the military doesnt always have to follow the same rules we do
87manche
from the reaserch I've picked up there are some that have the stamp and others that don't. Depends on when they were made I guess.
yj2mj
I'd steer away from using 715 axles. Closed knuckles, odd 6 lug pattern, small, coarse spline axles, and they are not very upgrade friendly. And 60s are far from bulletproof. Ask me how I know.
