jeepdoggydogB
Well my second fuel pump assembly cracked and puked fuel down the side of the tank, I have called every junk yard in the country (I think we all know the new airtek is for a cherokee). I found a 1991 but it is from a 4 cylinder. Does anyone know if the 1991 4 cylinder will work in the 1991 4.0 liter six? The fellows at JW's are saying yes but I thought folks here might have better knowledge. TIA

TIA  According to my 91 parts manual the senders are the same for all 91 MJs, there is no differentiation between engines. Same goes for the pump, so it should work just fine.

fiatslug87
Hi Joe, There are two MJs at the pick-n-pull in Fairfield (near the Air Force base) one is an '86 the other an '89 (?) both were 2.5L, I think the fuel pumps are still in them. I'm not sure if they're the same as the '91s but if they are that's an option. Mike

As I recall the earlier pumps polarity is the reverse of the later model but I am not sure the year breakdown. I quickly paid the $125 asking price at JW because my truck is my DD and I have my Mother-in-Laws toyota corolla (which I hate). These things are becoming scarce and most of us don't realize it until we need one.
El Comanche
Hello from the Great White North. In the summer I too needed a replacement sending unit. But since none were available, the rad&tank shop where I got a new tank, welded or brazed the crack in the unit. So far so good.
