cj dana 44 will it fitt and a few other quetions

how much smaller is a cj dana 44 then a comanche dana 44 or a cherokee dana 44 would it be smarted just to put the ford 8.8 in the rear i can buy one for 200 off a friend also if i was to put a dana 44 in the front would i have to order a custom lift kit or could i still use the tnt 5.5 inch lift kit?

Exactly... If it's wide track, you should be OK, but narrow will not work. ;) .

 

The 8.8 will keep your bolt pattern the same where the CJ D44 will have a 5on5.5 pattern.

 

I'm sure there would have to be some custom working done to use the lift kit with a different axle than it's intent.

Even a Wide track CJ Axle will be 4" narrower then the MJ/XJ axles...

MJ axles are 58", which should be the same as a wide track CJ from what I remember.

Well...I am thinking track width, which is 58", so they may be 60"... in which case the CJ axle would be short even in the wide track version.

I'm pretty sure they are the same. my bro has a wide track d44 out of a cj under his yj and i always thought yj and mj axles were the same width

YJ/MJ/XJ/ZJ axles are all the same width but CJ's are Narrower...

 

CJ Wide track is Wheel mount to wheel mount is 54" and the YJ/MJ/XJ/ZJ axles are 60
