bilgamesh Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I bought a 1990 Comanche a couple days ago. In going through it, I noticed the loose plug pictured below. It comes from the group of wires near the battery, has one black wire and one red, and was resting near the firewall behind the reservoir. Can anyone tell me where it is supposed to plug in? - Thanks! http://www.falzett.com/wire.jpg

Akula69 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 I can't really see the shape of the plug itself, but I'd guess it was either for a underhood light or perhaps the cruise control? :dunno:

Redramman Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Just checked my Son's 1990 4cyl and it has that same plug, and its not pluged into anything.

fiatslug87 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 My '90 4.0 has had that same connector not hooked up since it was new. I still don't know what it's for after 18+ years.

jtdesigns Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Does it have any kind of voltage going to it? Looks like a female fog light connector.

smithe1811 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 I posted a similar question a while ago about my 86 and the response i got was that it was just a missing option. Erik :beerhead:
Redramman Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Maybe that wire plugs into the mysterious electrical box in a post titled:"What be this electrical thinger?"by DirtyComanche. They thought it was for day time runing lights or automatic trans control module.

Redramman Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008  Flux capacitor :rotf: :hijack:The Ninja 5000!?! Will that fit on the worlds fastest Comanche?
fiatslug87 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 My '90 4.0 has had that same connector not hooked up since it was new. I still don't know what it's for after 18+ years. I was at the JY today and saw a '90 Cherokee with the retractable engine light with that connector!! I assumed the engine light connector was a single wire in my '90 like in my '88 & '89 but it's not. The Engine light for the '88 & '89 have a grounding wire that attaches to the support bar but the '90 light has both wires feeding into the connector. I should know to never ASSume  , especially with JEEPS!
