changing the rear and front end

Recommended Posts

A toyota front axle has a passenger side differental were as our jeeps have a drivers side. So a toyota front won't work.

Rubicon Express makes a mounting kit for a front axle. So does TnT Customs.

As far as what else has to be changed just depends on lift height and components used. If your swaping an axle your looking at steering and driveshafts to say the least. Its a hard question to answer without knowing your plan for the truck and or budget.

The only thing stock on my truck is the rear axle (housing only), leaf packs, and motor. I've replaced everything else.

If you're looking for a project, a good combo is the Grand Wagoneer front axle and the 94-95 Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport Dana 44 rear axle. Same widths, same 6 bolt rim patterns, and the Isuzu rear can be found with disk brakes and 4.10 or 4.30 gear ratios (the V6 had the disk brakes).
