I'm delivering pizzas the other day goin back to the store. I turn on my blinker to get into the left lane and this jackass on his harley speeds up and won't let me over. So whatever, i'm over it, i eventually got over anyway. We both turn left, then at the next light he is going straight and I'm turning right...Now considering he is almost sitting on the dotted line the is way more than enough room for me to squeeze by him to turn right. So thats what i do, but right as i stop to look and see if anyone is coming so i can turn all i hear is "@#$% YOU @$$ HOLE!!!!" i turn then i look in my mirror and here comes this crazy bastard hauling @$$ toward me in the wrong lane. he cuts me off and slams on his brakes, it looked like he was going to get off his bike(where i grew up if anyone is going to walk up to your window very pissed off like that, you'd be better off just leaving) so i drive around him to go back to the store. But noooo he jumps back on his bike  and cuts me off again . BTW I'm not driving my XJ at this moment, i'm in my less than intimidating 99 Mercury tracer(basically a ford escort for those who don't know). This time he is just looking back at me cussing at me like crazy. So fine if he won't let me leave i'll just let him b*@$£ and complain till he leaves. So i turn up the radio REALLY REALLY loud(i was listning to Static X, some good ol hard metal) and just sat there smiling at him :D till he finally left.

Ok so besides me sitting there smiling at him, which i know made him more mad. Did i do something wrong here to make him freak out on me like that?

He probably had a bad day, and needed someone, anyone to vent at.

The one time that surprised me was year ago, when I lived pretty much across the street from a McD. I'm sitting at a stop sign, waiting to turn left (which would take me in front of the McD exit after about 200 feet. Traffic clears and I pull out. As I pull out, a truck pulls away from the drive thru window, heads for the exit quite fast and pulls out without stopping RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. This was in my little Geo Prizm. I stomp on the brake locking up all 4 wheels and lean on the horn as he looks at me with surprise showing on his face, along the lines of "where the heck did that car come from" and floors the gas, which is about the only thing he could have done to prevent a wreck. The ds rear corner actually goes over top of my hood, which is pretty low to begin with and even more so since the car is nose diving from the brakes.

A few blocks later we get to a traffic light that goes red as he gets there, so he get out of his truck and walks up to my window. You all know what I'm expecting, but I roll down my window anyway.

"I'm so sorry about that, man. I never saw you coming. You okay?"

Left me speechless.

reminds me of last friday when the wife and i were in the nissan on the way home, and we're going down a road with 2 lanes going my direction, i'm in the right. the left one ends in a turn lane, and this guy in an explorer tries to pass on the left, starts honking at me, then gets in behind me since his lane ends. i'm like 'ok, get over it'...except he follows me around a right turn onto another street...close. so i keep watching him, and make a quick left turn that i hardly got through the light and he outright ran. this went on through another 2 right lanes, bring right back to were he started following me...by this point, i don't care what he wants, i darted down another couple side streets and lost him.

crazy @$$ holes abound out there in the streets.

I ride a motorcycle and its possible that somone else cut him off back down the rode and when you shared part of his lane it just took his attitude to next level,Its hard to understand how mad that makes you when your the one on the bike until it happens to you ,but with that said he still sounds like a dumb a$$ for geting in front of you and slaming on his brakes I mean what if yours didnt work that good and you plowed him

that could have really ruined his day.

Trust me if i were in the Jeep there would of been no way i could of stopped in time (no back brakes :D ). Everywhere i go in the summer people on bikes are driving like complete dicks where i live, so if he got cut off earlier in the day then oh well. with the way he was acting I'm sure he deserved it. The "start seeing motorcycles" bumperstickers piss me off because its usually the motorcylist who cuts me off :headpop: then flys down the road

That sounds like similar to what I deal with "Hey man, I didn't see you", HOW can you miss a 28 foot, 30 ton dump truck  with ALL the lights burning in broad daylight coming down the street? Oh, and though I'm not supposed to, I have gotten real good with my "hand signals", you know, communication :brows:

Hey 69, it's a tough call without seeing it but to avoid "Biker Bob" going off on you, treat a bike like it's a one-tonne duly taking up the whole lane. I ride a bike and I can't count the amount of times someone "shared" the lane with me only to clip my leg. I'll admit to wanting to kick a mirror when someone does that to me but I wouldn't cut in front and slam on my brakes....that's whacko. However, I will offer the bird in a gesture of my displeasure...

There are only two "types" of folks that I cut slack to, other truck drivers and bikers jamminz.gif (many of my friends ride and some of them are truckers too), those in cars have their work cut out for themselves with the exception of those who show courtesy and "ask" to be let into the lane I'm in or off the side street I'm about to block (while waiting for traffic to clear).
