  21. I called Borla and talked to a fellow named David. He says because the header was built for a truck with a manual trans, and because the automatic is a bigger unit than the manual, this is why it won't fit. I think this sounds a bit like BS to me, I doubt he had anymore familiarity with the header than spec sheet he had in front of him, but I've never had the chance to compare the dimensions of the manual vs. automatic. The header uses its own crossover pipe, so maybe this is where there is an issue. Borla has a header for the '91 Comanche/Cherokee that works with either transmission, but it does not have an EGR port like the header for the older motors. Unfortunately, I live in a state that uses a dyno for its emissions test, and that means having to worry about stuff like this if you want to pass. i have to call bs on this too. my '87 is an auto... i did buy mine 5-6ys ago. i'll try to find the part# for the one i have. i also bought the cat back at the same time. sill have the muffler & pipe but the end is hanging in the garage. just figure it's wall art for the garage. :D edit: my brain keeps on flashbacking. when i bought mine it came with 2 diff gaskets. even in the distraction they said to make sure to use the right gasket. pre/post '91.
  22. you could say this about every after market product you buy.
  23. your right. the borla header is a true header with down pipe. gives a little more power. the banks is a stock replacement. no power gain but better quality than stock. i know the borla should last the life of the rig with "million mile warranty". i'm sure if the banks takes a s*&t they will replace it. you can save your money on a stock one but why shovel more crap into your rig. my .02  edit: i have 2 stock exhaust manifold you can have if you want to reweld them. :D
