  1. Tough to spot in the 1st pic but I walked up by the RR tracks and, sure enough, another MJ!
  2. 1992 Comanche bought sight unseen, 850 mile trip home
  3. A sad one. Final resting place is at Pick-N-Save in Rustburg, VA. She took a hard hit. Other than rockers & cab corners not too much left work taking.
  4. I asked and I know that 2 of the 3 ('89 and the '91) aren't. I don't think the 3rd ('87) is. He'd parked on the side of the road with an ambitious price for an AX-5, 2.5 2WD with 177K and a rattle can paint job ($8K).
  5. Saw 3 today at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion.
  6. And this one in Northeast PA
  7. Saw this one in East TN
  8. Been a while but she's been earning her keep. My other car was in a multi-car pileup. Took Georgia on a 400+ mile trip last Saturday to get a front end.
  9. Saw another one today. She was kind of rough but still moving under own power. Can't remember the last time I saw 2 MJs in the wild within 24 hrs!
  10. Saw this one tonight. Stopped and spoke with the owner for a minute. '88 4 banger.
  11. Found this gem last Saturday when I was at LKQ. Looks to me like she was wrecked years ago then sat as a "someday" project. She'd been picked over pretty well though I did get the E-brake release handle .
  12. The hood to cowl seal and door seals were all in tough shape too. Now they're all new:
  13. Giving Georgia some Christmas TLC and trying to get a handle on the interior water leaks. First up the seam sealer on the cowl seams was cracked or plain MIA. Cleaned it all out and put in some fresh 3M Dynatron seam sealer. Some of the factory panel gaps were unbelievable!
  14. It might be worth having Autozone, Advance, etc. test the current alternator. If it's bad you have a smoking gun. If not, well at least you'll know.
  15. Thanks! She's a fun driver and we're closing in on 320K miles
  16. Had an odd one I had to track down. I was hearing a loud rattle but only at startup or shutdown. Turns out the weld on the exhaust hanger broke free of the pipe. As the hanger was a U shape the pipe was intermittently contacting it. Welded it back together and problem solved.
  17. That's a shame. She looks great from the top? You going to junk her? How many miles?
  18. Great commercial! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQWj7dcfaYk
  19. Caught a glimpse of something passing a local self-storage place. Turned around and drove up to the gate. Sure enough:
  20. Found this '88 at the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge, TN today. Only grabbed 1 pic (lots and lots of cars there!) but it was for sale:
  21. The donor '96 had terminal road salt induced cancer and was crumbling. Oddly the doors & front fenders are perfect . She was destined to be an organ donor:
  22. Labor Day weekend was a big one for Georgia. I took her on a 900 mile road trip to Ohio to help a buddy start converting his '92 2WD XJ to 4WD. My trip souvenir was the 161K mile engine from the '96 XJ parts truck. Georgia ran like a champ though I wish I had working AC on the trip home. It was hot!
  23. WOW! She's the spitting image of my '92! What's the build date?
