Passing is under 10 min. and you were at 9:56... That's cutting it awful close. If this is something you want to do it sounds like time to get out from behind the computer and getting some more physical hobbies. No offense intended, but fire fighter work is a serious line of business.

Here's one for all the Marines out there... A Marine was attending a college course (here in USA) between missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The professor, an avowed atheist, shocked the class one day when he walked in, looked toward the ceiling, and said loudly, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes." The lecture room fell silent and the professor began his lecture. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God - still waiting." It got down to the last minute when the Marine stood up, walked toward the professor and threw his best punch, knocking him off the platform and out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat down. The professor came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What is the matter with you? Why did you do that?" The Marine calmly replied, "God is busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to behave like an idiot. So He sent me." :USAflag:

:agree: Except it's only one for me in my driveway. Otherwise they are few and far between... Michigan winters have taken their toll. :(

Another bed is definitely still in the cards for me too.

Rear fenders are starting to look the same on mine... I've been contemplating how I'm going to fix the problem. No solutions yet, but I'm thinking about welding in a patch piece and getting rid of the inner fender all together.

USS Arizona... still there... still leaks some oil in the water too.

Replacing cracked windshield
Carl'sMJ replied to ComancheBSJ90's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
How does this put unnecessary stress on the window installers? :huh???: Is the windshield already out? As previously stated, you don't have to mess with the plastic tabs that hold in the metal trim anymore if you use the new rubber trim... It just wraps around the windshield. IMHO it is a much cleaner look with the rubber and I would definitely make the switch. -
Bucket seat restoration and repair. (Lots of Pics)

Very nice post! Will the cover come off a bench seat in a similar fashion? Wouldn't mind cleaning mine up. -
Daily driver MJ....what do I need to fix
Carl'sMJ replied to Disturbed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I replaced my front cable a few years ago... got it from NAPA... I can't remember the cost, but it wasn't too bad from what I remember. -
I'm interested to see what you come up with... keep us posted. I've been looking into fabricating a very similar design to mount some rear facing work lights. My idea would not come up higher than the cab though... it would run about the same height.

80w-90 here... Don't forget your friction modifier for your limited-slip, posi, or locker if you have one.

Wipers not mission capable
Carl'sMJ replied to socal1200r's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:agree: It could be bushings or another problem with the linkage (bent, broken, rusted out)... You'll definitely need to take the cowl off and check it out. Removing the wiper arms and cowl isn't that much work to figure out what is wrong. It might be a good opportunity while you're in there to swap the bushings if the wipers were sloppy at all... and a chance to clean up under the cowl. -
Count me in! Where's the Mk19??? :???:

Oil Pressure Guage Question
Carl'sMJ replied to Carl'sMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I tried it with the unit unplugged and then grounded it directly to the engine block... Both times there was no light. Is there any chance that the sending unit could have been replaced at some point with the wrong unit (i.e. the one for the actual guage)? I'm probably going to grab another unit and try it next. Any other suggestions? -
Actually it is my Oil Pressure idiot light that is the subject of my question. For some reason it is always on when the truck is running, but it is very dim. In the day time you can hardly see it... it is more noticable at night. Sometimes it will brighten up a bit during harder than normal braking. Is this an issue with the sending unit or something else? It's a bit of an annoyance having the light on and I would like to take care of it. Thanks.

Got 'em out today!!! :clapping: Whacking the yoke with a hammer while they were under pressure and some help from the cheater bar were the ticket to success. It took a bit of work but they finally came out. Thanks for the advice... now it's time to get the new ones in

Why remove the rear proportioning valve? Is it a flawed system or something? I thought the same thing, but the pedal lost about all pressure and pressing it wasn't stopping anything just gushing brake fluid all over my spare tire :dunno: . The truck is ready for a brake job up front, but other than that it has been fine. Isn't the system all linked so if the line blows anywhere you would lose pressure. I think it is a fairly large break in the line judging from the amount of brake fluid.

We'll definitely give that a shot too.
