  8. i own a older bmw and have been a member of the national club for ten yrs. this topic has gone around the whole time. the over all opinion is of racers. rally boys, and track hounds that drive street and track, rubber for the street and light duty track use, urethane in any form for the dedicated track junkies. the reasoning: the suspension provides better ride with rubber more flex. my own experience has shown this to be true. for the three off road and street use trucks i've owned this has been true also. i started with the stock rubber, then the old urethane compounds, graphite ones, now i'm testing the new compounds for ride and flex. mine mj is going to be my only vehicle. all street, and trips for prerunning hundreds of miles off road, then driving home to go to work . for motor and transmission i use black urethane. little more vibration, but flex is reduced considerably. until i design a new linkage for shifting into 4wheel, it works better with urethane. hope this helps.
  9. i bought mine from kevinsoffroad. came with bracket, mounting hard wear. workmanship ex. it was bent at the proper angle. removed rustie's and put it on my mj. so long bump steer. modified it for mj.http:// i just realized this is before i modified it. see how low it is. i will take a pic tommorow and post it here.http:// this a rusties bracket, a little light, but i'm going to box it in.
  10. some of the young guys that have dedicated mud rigs are going with no track bar. when asked how does it drive they say.ahh, ok. all you can do is walk away. darwin rides on :jump:
  11. supposed to be a good tire. let us know how they are off road
  12. i'll check
  13. i am redoing my interior. headliner, carpet, dash, and driver seat finished. must do rear window area and find console.http://http:// going to transplant single window doors than redo in same material as rear window putting in bar across back seat for five point harnesses.
  14. what about the pressure plate? does it need to be convex on the side that faces the flywheel? i just remembered, my 88 mj has an ax15, not stock in it. so i better get the exact yr of motor, an transmission before i buy anything. i put urethane motor mounts in it, and bought a urethane tranmission mount. but the transmission mount is to big. the junk yard writing says its off a ax15, but what yr? or what vehicle? i have the urethane mount i will sell cheap,$20.00. so i need to find out what its out of. buy the way there is a little vibration, but the directness of engagement is more than worth it. but i really need the urethane trans mount. replace all three or none at all. i can feel the trans go up an down when i shift. not bad, but i'm a perfectionist.
  15. i'm checking with a dealer in another town to see their recommendation for package or what ever.be back
  16. no the deaaler
  17. if the aftermarket fly wheels don't have a dish to them, does this mean my only recourse is the dealer? or is there someplace else to score one?
  18. look up the wilson 1000. great reviews
  19. used them on my xj, will use them on my mj.jks
  20. floor pan rust. the job was easy compared to finding the leak. hood release cable coming through the firewall. butt, the big leak was in around and through the fuse panel. finally got it-i hope! old owner of truck left outside for 9 mo's, carpet , headliner baad. installing the head liner today, will post pic interior later today. bought alum 5/16 noise, heat shielding, and new carpeting. installed. much less noisy. installed the 5/16 everywhere but doors.http://http://
  21. glad i read this bunch of posts. thanks for the info. :brows:
  22. deka. i went to a trusted supplier and they said it would work. new type. we checked load for truck and the battery is strong enough. before i do the install will check actual load, and see that it works. when i bought this truck, it came with lots of trick stuff.but, the battery, cables, and some other wires are in bad shape. so that was the start of relocating at this time. i must fix this before i go much further driving it.
