  1. in light of the fact that I CAN'T say "I'm with stupid"... I'll say that "I'm with Automan". Rob is right. it's 4-5 years difference on product. that's enough difference in time frame that looks could change.
  2. wish that I'd have known that earlier...
  3. does the relay click when you push it?
  4. well that's a damn shame. that thing won't bolt in to ANY comanche. period. motor mounts and frame horns for them are different. engine and dash wiring is different. input shaft on the ax5 is different gauge cluster is different shame he didn't get everything
  5. remember that you have to drill the center of the bearing out to fit the input shaft of the newer trans...
  6. the part that you put a circle over in your picture....remove it. this requires cutting the metal line on one end. then reconnect the hose to the part that the vacuum piece is on, using a clamp. the sole purpose of this is to remove the bad part. remove, reconnect, done. to block the vacuum hose, get a screw with silicon on it and pop it in.
  7. to sean connery
  8. yeah. I'm bettin all it is is punchin a hole in the seat cover (in the right spot) and poppin the clips and the head rests in.
  9. I bet that the only things you need for the MJ are the clips and headrests...I'll find out tomorrow.
  10. so...I figured the radiator in this thing was all bent up and whatnot, so there's no way it could have coolant in it... WRONG. lol...i pulled it cause I was taking some scrap in today, with no drain pan anywhere to be seen. yeah, it was STILL FULL....and has a healthy mix of tranny fluid in it, too. i'm scrapping the trans along with it...no need to deal with the possibility of it having a shorter life span.
  11. chop the bad part out of the line, reconnect rubber hose to metal tube, clamp, call it good. block the vacuum hose that's going to it, and you are done.
  12. who said what
  13. just remove it. go ahead and saw it out, then clamp the hose over the tube. done deal. this will also prevent any and all future heater core blockages (constant coolant flow through heater core), and allow your engine to run a bit cooler.
  14. at the bear
  15. :jump:  :D I've gotta talk to ya tomorrow, Bo...give me a buzz whenever.
  16. even if you have to source the body parts elsewhere, that's a good deal. i bet you can get it for $300
  17. I'd say you should swap the charcoal interior into your Utility Comanche. I've never been a fan of the tan interior...gets dirty too easily and looks tacky to me. nah, the charcoal stuff is probably going to Bo (shelbyluvv). I've got a thing for the tan interior. I'll be putting the tan doors and complete tan front end from this xj onto the truck...and I guess I'm painting it tan now, because that just seems easier since the front is already tan.
  18. I'm not too sure yet. it seemed like a decent idea to just throw it in the stock location in the engine bay, and plumb it with stainless lines, since they're already there... may have a TJ gas tank and gauge cluster to use in it.
  19. that sucks man. I'd say I know how it goes, but I've been pretty lucky as far as it goes. I'm about to head out and pick up another parts xj...identical to this one, but charcoal interior, and not one single dent. owner lost the title, and the motor is blown. $300.
  20. is this on a renix or high output? if it's renix, the speedo has nothing to do with anything but itself, so I'd hazard to say you accidently bumped a sensor in the engine bay or something. if it's high output, again...it's not gonna cause running issues. btw....the speedo gears must be clocked appropriately to work. the mount/sensor that they go in labels which tooth count goes where.
  21. got it running... CEL's all over. gotta put the '97 ECM and TCU on it. required to use the '95 trans. also need to install the charcoal canister, and hook up the sending unit/modify the xj unit to install.
  22. I'm logging me, my bro, and my dad in all at 1 time haha
  23. Not hardly! You can probably remember what you had for breakfast this morning. hard to remember what you didn't have... I'm penny pinching. eat when necessary for nutritional purposes. gotta fuel the habit somehow...(or at least the final finish-up on what projects I currently have)
