  1. Ok, I lied the powdercoat isn't quite free. I buy the guys a little ceasars pizza for lunch. So it's like $8 for the big stuff but the little stuff I can throw in with the stuff we weld if they are slow and it's the same color as what I want. and i sandblast my own stuff at work to save the guys time and stuff. And the brackets were pretty easy to figure out. Just put pieces of angle up there and tacked them together then marked the holes. They need work cuz the drivers side is REALLY hard to get the top bolts in cuz of the gas tank. But I will I take better pictures next time I have them off. and i rolled the fenderwell backing plates at work too. Comes in handy working at a fab shop
  2. Thanks. and its ok i just wanted a general idea of what the brackets were. but after looking under there i figured it out. when i take the bed off again for further work or down the road a little ways for other work i think i will make better looking brackets and make them a little cleaner (even though nobody will see them, they could be better) and i will have them powdercoated too instead of rattle canned as they are now. and yes being able to get everything powdercoated for Free is NICE! i would like to find another roll bar and do it in satin black just to see how it looks. and my bumpers will be powdered too and when i steal your design for bed rail covers they will be powdered too. ha. and pretty much anything else metal that i can think of underneath and under the hood will be done also.
  3. Got the roll bar mounted over the weekend and lights mounted. had to make my own mounting brackets and backing plates for the wheel wells Facemelters! top is before KC lights dims/brights bottom is with KC lights dims/brights The lights are on a factory fog light switch.
  4. Let us know how they work out. That does sound like a good deal of they're worth it.
  5. i filed and sanded most of the nicks and scratches out. they have clear powdercoat. the next couple sets i do one of them will be sandblasted then powdered clear.
  6. is there any way to read that without having to download it? i try to download it and it says unsupported file or something. i just wanna read itt!!!!!!!!!
  7. i want to find 2 or 3 more sets of turbines and a couple more roll bars and try out some more colors. the chocolate color, on the sample looked more of a greyish blue green (hard to explain) and i kind of lliked that but when it came out the chocolate color, i LOVED it. they will be going on a bright blue metal flaked cherokee.
  8. i just ordered a set of black METAL 5x7s from KC with the long range lenses and 130 watt bulbs for my rollbar should be here friday. shipped it was $159.34. i have had a set of the 6" round KC daylighters with the long range lenses and 130 watt bulbs and they are awesome! and that is a very nice looking truck! like the rims!
  9. That would work but I wouldn't do it on min just cuz it wouldn't last as long I wouldn't think and again, keeping the lines straight. They look awesome enough for me. Ha. Didn't cost me anything so can't complain.
  10. I agree with your hornbrod that that original color scheme looks the best but finding an original set that looks good is about impossible around here. And trying to mask off the inner spokes and outter to get the two different colors is hard and time consuming. Getting the lines straight and everything isn't a guarantee and neither is the two colors coming out right. Both powders have to be right so the first doesn't chemically react different when it's been baked twice as long for the second color. It will be something I will try eventually but for now the solid silver is fine.
  11. I had the guys at work powdercoat 2 sets of my turbine wheels and my factory roll bar... after sand blasting thursday night. (there are 7 on the skid, the 8th was still in the booth.) going back to work this morning for powder. (left the roll bar there overnight) how they came out.. left one is a light chocolatey color, the right is a metallic silver. (i have had another set of rims done in this same color for a couple months now too) chocolatey...mmmmmmm. silver... silver rollbar the rim in the background is the silver ive had done for a while
  12. Is there any way I could get you to snap some pictures of those roll bar mounts tonight or tomorrow so I could figure em out and make em so I can bolt it in Saturday afternoon?
  13. ya, I'd like pictures of both. ill probably make them. i think i can just use 2 pieces of angle for the front and then roll out a piece for each fender well. shouldnt be too hard to do. just wanted to know what they kinda looked like and if you could give me some rough measurements and thickness of metal. thanks.
  14. do you happen to have any pictures of the roll bar mounts?
  15. Image Not Found colors i might use. tan might be used on my maroon cherokee
  16. these are the colors I'm wanting to use. that tan might be for my maroon cherokee
  17. Does anybody have any pictures of parts that they have painted or powder coated for accent pieces or just for better protection. like springs, coils, driveshafts, front and rear ends, motor, ect.? i am wanting to powdercoat and paint everything i can but i don't know how much is too much or whatever. the truck will be the stock dark blue metallic and i know the rims will be powdercoated in a medium dark silver/grey metallic. also might try a lighter blue than the truck hammertone powdercoat. any suggestions on what to get done?
  18. i have a set of Delta housings with the putco wiring harness upgrade and 130w/100w Narva H4 bulbs. i love them! REALLY bright. i rarely need to use my hi beams. my next time around for my cherokee i think ill try the Hella or IPF housings and probably stick with the same bulbs. I paid about $200 the first time around but ive found this whole set up recently for about $100.
  19. don't put one in. all they do is leak! ive seen one in an xj that leaked and the one in my mj leaks in the exact same spot. i just bought and installed a new seal and hinges. doesnt leak for now but i think it eventually will again. and they are only held in by the silicone/adheasive under the main frame. and it makes the roof very flimsy. one thing i will watch out for now on every vehicle i buy is an aftermarket sunroof in a vehicle it didnt come stock in.
  20. i havent personally done this swap. ive actually done the opposite, bucket to bench. the previous owner had newer 4 door xj seats in it. he just drilled two holes, diaganol corners from each other, in each floor board, and bent the front two brackets, where the bolts go through, flat and made them fit his holes. the seats fit just fine and everything, but how he had it, instead of the seats having a 3-4 inch slope leaning backwards, they leaned forward that much so the seat was flat and somewhat uncomfortable. i put temporary spacers under each seat to kinda make it sit right but it wasnt what i wanted. and the since the seats didnt fold forward they sucked to put stuff behind. so if i was you i would either find the older xj seats that fit right or do what youre going to, mount them on the bench frame. it would probably sit just fine. I personally like my bench seat now better than i did the bucket seats.
  21. My 91 is very sluggish when taking off in drive. and by sluggish i mean you have to give it a lot of throttle, where normally its pretty peppy and just bumping the throttle moves it. feels like maybe as if I'm driving in the "comfort" setting on the comfort /power switch. cuz ive always drove in power but the switch is unplugged now and it doesnt matter if its plugged in. still does the same thing. i had to unplug the transmission control unit to run a new antenna cable and i took the gauge cluster out and put it back in if any of that matters. the TCU was unplugged (forgot to plug it back in) when i started the truck and tried to pull it forward and thats when i noticed it being sluggish. everything is plugged back in how it was and its still barely responsive. once it gets up to speed after taking off it drives fine. just slow to take off. any ideas?
  22. Does anybody know where i can get a comlete new fuel pump assembly for my 91? 18.5 gal. tank if it matters. i know a cherokee assembly won't work and have looked everywhere, i think. thanks
  23. there arent many bulbs that ive found that are over 100 watts, 130 is the highest ive seen and most arent really 130 watts. i havent had any issues with my setup and i don't worry about it. i trust it.
  24. I have a set of the Delta housings with 130/100watt narva motorcycle bulbs and the putco harness. It's an amazing setup. They have great cut off and are ungodly bright. I only get flashed every once in a while and its usually by little ricers with blue HIDs. Spent a little more than I should have on it all, $190, but I'm very impressed.
