  1. It is stock height now but when we did a quick test fit on the 2wd truck we were very close to the axle (we think) so I got a 4.5" rustys lift. All our other jeeps have 3 inch lifts so I figured I'd go bigger to be different. I got most of the engine bay degreased and most of the underside of the cab and the tranny tunnel stripped and ready for undercoating. Won't have much time to work on it during week for a while cuz of work so we've just got weekends. Gonna buy everything I need to replace everything in the front axle this week so it's ready to do when we throw the lift on
  2. We started pulling the 4.0 out yesterday snd gonna finish today and hopefully throw the Cummins in for a "real" test fit before the days over!
  3. Ive started a build thread on here of my B3.3 Cummins swap.... Haven't really "started" the swap yet. Waiting on better weather.
  4. I built my own to look like a stock bumper... Coulda had it powpowdercoated "chrome".. http://comancheclub.com/topic/41835-built-a-new-stock-bumper/
  5. That 4 minutes was better than 50% of the full length movies that came out last year! Can't wait for more!
  6. We have flat black but I didn't want that. It's medium gloss. And no, you can't use primer. Has to be bare metal since it's elecrocally charged powder. Unless it's on aluminum. Then you pre heat it then powder then bake it on. Plus I had it sand blasted or else the powdercoat barely sticks. And my first intentions were to use the stock end caps but the broke pieces came out a bit too big so I couldn't use them. And I would only be able to produce a couple every once in a long while. Since I'm having the presses break the parts and then me building them when I'm on 8 hour shifts which is some what rare and then having them powdercoated whenever they have time. I work in a production/ fab. shop so were always busy. We build a lot of different things. Some you might see or use every day....
  7. sooo... it came out way worse than I thought it was gonna... being black, you can see every spot I thought I cleaned up but I guess I didn't.... kinda disappointed but I'm gonna run with it for a while I guess. it didn't cost me anything. its all scrap. youd be surprised what gets thrown away at work. and powder coat didn't cost anything either. it took, I'm gonna say, about 50 hours to do. thats with all the brainstorming and messing with ideas. it weighs 51 pounds compared to the stock 31 pounds.
  8. http://comancheclub.com/topic/40407-cummins-b33-powered-mj-build/?hl=cummins this is my build... similar...
  9. I'm building my own bumper that looks like the stock one..
  10. I'm trying to figure out what I wanna do with them. Probably going to be the same design as stock. This bumper is a 1/2" taller and deeper than stock so the end caps won't fit. I've made a couple versions of endcaps but haven't liked any so far. Ive got about 25 hours so far in it, that includes throwing around different ideas.
  11. I've started to make one that looks just like the stock one. Not what you're looking for I know, but building one is an option....
  12. Did you get yours from Keyport? Cuz I see you have 6 keys plus usb and flashlight. And I thought you could only have 6 slots. Didn't know if it was like a kit of every option off eBay or something....
  13. I'm actually thinking about getting this set up now. Even though $80 is a lot for a set of keys, I like it. ($60 for the keyport and about $4 to make each key.)
  14. '79 with a 360 that runs pretty decent. It's got some rust and holes and dents but nothing major. Interior is really good for the year. Comes with another set of front fenders and header panel. Has stock roll bar and stock am/fm/cb combo with original Mic. 67,*** original miles. and owners manuals. $900.
  15. Home improvement projects that HAD to get done and brother in laws motor in his Comanche took a dump so that's where our time has been. Hopefully by the end of the month we'll be on it again. maybe, were picking up a J10 as soon as the snow clears soo....ya... But I'm getting anxious.
  16. Its here on CC!! http://comancheclub.com/topic/40407-cummins-b33-powered-mj-build/ I was about to post my link....mine isn't done yet but is coming along. I don't think there is a write up of one in a Comanche. My motors (2 Cummins B3.3s)cost me $4400. They are harder to come by for "cheap". O thought that was pretty cheap considering they are $5000 each new for not even a running motor. And mine had 0 hours on thrm, never been fired up before. Read my build...
  17. I have had a set of delta housings with a putco harness and narva 130w/100w. They are BRIGHT! I never use my brights. They have a great pattern and cutoff. Everybody said the bulbs would only last a few months but ive had the same set in for 2 and a half years. No complaints! And I just bought my sister the same bulbs and harness but with hella housings. I hsvent seen them at night yet but she says they're bright! I'll have to check tonight.
  18. I will try to do some measuring today on it. And I'll price aluminum and labor at the fab shop I work at and see how much I could get more made for. (in guessing not cheaper than I paid, but I'll ask) And I don't know about the aluminum flywheel adapter. I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem since it's been done before but who knows. Ill know soon enough. I think it should be fine.
  19. Agreed! Thanks. I will take measurements and better pix in a couple months when I take my bed off for frame work and paint. I pretty much had to throw pieces up there, somewhat bolt them in then tack together. They aren't perfect but they work.
  20. it is probably way cheaper for them to cast out the adapter ring than it is to buy a piece of flat stock. it is 18" across and only 2" wide so thats alot of scrap needing to be cut or milled away. and same with tthe flywheel adapter, probably cheaper to cast their own parts ready for machining. and it was a good price for the work. seeing as how it was gonna be about $1200 to go the route i thought i had to go and buy 2 adapters.
  21. decided not to mess with the timing. got my flywheel and bellhousing adapters in monday!!! when i opened the shipping box there were 3 LED flashlights with their company name on them and they made me a calender with each month having a picture of the process of them making my adapters. i thought it was pretty cool!! it all fit pretty well. had to tap 2 holes that werent on the transmission side of the bellhousing adapter and have to grind down the heads of cap socket bolts used on the motor side of the bellhousing adapter. but other than that perfect! spent $13 at work for 20 bolts for it and ordered flywheel bolts tonight for $19. now were looking for a pilot bearing! should have it bolted together and ready for test fit this weekend sometime. going good!
