Went out into the hills tonight with a few friends doing a little recon/hunting for some Coyotes that have been taking down cattle on my friends family farm. Around dark, and after doing a little of this... ...we set out across the pastures and up into the hills and woods, crossing several flooded creeks and bounding over rocks and fallen timber. We parked for a while to let the quiet take over again, did some more  while we was :chillin: . After a while we used a couple Coyote calls, didn't get any responses , but could hear things moving all around us in the woods. We pull out the Spotlights to check around us and my buddy that is the "marksman" :brows: reaches into the cab to retrive one of the rifles and guess what happens? , BLAM !! He blows a hole in my floorboard. I guess in the excitement of the moment and pitch black darkness these things can happen. :thwak: At this point, the hunt has become :rotfl2: , so we and :chillin: a little while longer, then we :driving: up the trail a bit further. I've got all my lighting in working order and we eventually roust a couple of coons. This time my buddy the "marksman":dunce: is on his game and cracks the bugger right between the eyes from about 150 feet and 60 feet up in a tree. So we are  and  and we back down the mountain. Ole stock height 2wd Sgt. Rock didn't have anything bad to say about the trip, even after sitting in that chicken coupe for the last 7 years. Water did come in throught the door seals at times, but since I have a new drain hole , no problem! We get back to the farm and a few more brews while :chillin: , then we decide to check on the truck to see what damage may have been inflicted. It was basically a , didn't hit the tranny or anything important, just went throught the floorboard and sheared the rusty exhaust pipe (it needs replaced anyways). It was great fun in the old MJ, plan on doing it again soon, except there will be more and :chillin: and hopefully a litle less . Ive included a link for tonights photo in case it goes :redX: like the rest of my pics have lately :hmm: . This is a shot of my friend Haybailler laying hand on both of tonights kills..... http://images21.fotki.com/v577/fileobx6 ... C00001.jpg

...yes, the ones I picked up are the same as the ones on warriors truck. BUT, I've found the same ones at O'Reilleys aftermarket. Mine did come from the Chrysler/Jeep dealership mounted on a friends truck, but they may not be "OEM". One of the morrors had been replaced, it is smaller and looks different, but the other is larger and does have some part numbers stamped into it...it will require pulling the doorpanels to mount!

.....yep, you guys said to watch for it, and today, wet spots started showing up on the floor board. Crawled under the dash for inspection....very light seepage coming out of the rubber boot and down the shaft to the linkage bar, Doesnt apear to be dripping directly onto the fuse box, but there were a few moist spots. I've covered the box with a small baggie for now, I paid attention to the horror stories! Is there some way to rebuild or replace these seals, or is a new cluth master cyclinder in order???

here's a few pics of the bedliner, it is a 3 piece deal....the liner shell and 2 mounting strips that are grooved on the under side to hold the liner shells upper edge. The strips have become brittle and warped, had to add a few extra screws and redrill a few of them.....also picked up what I thing is a Yota roll/light bar fits good on fender humps....more pics in Fotki, follow the links http://images21.fotki.com/v578/filelSOy ... liner1.jpg http://images22.fotki.com/v519/file40tR ... liner2.jpg

clutch pedal adjustment.....?
rocketwheels replied to rocketwheels's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
OK , I'm good to go on the clutch/slave cylinder thing. The frozen slave worked after cracking the bleed screw, then did a quick bleed and got the "at the floor" release. Did a complete bleed this weekend and the release is between 1/3rd and 1/2half the way to the floor. The Reservor is also looking good, no weeping or seepage. Bad news is , now the Brakes master cylinder is getting moist around the pressure booster. Did a complete bleed on it and then all 4 wheels. I've got"iffy" pedal action. Oh well! At least I enlisted the help of my 8 year old daughter Leslie to pump the pedals for me. She had a blast doing something that was actually productive and not "make busy"! -
...well, mine says Comanche too, but is set down between the rails, the top surface is totaly visible....I'll get pics soon, raining here as of now.
-
....no, doesn't look like it has been cut, I'll try and get some pics soon. Sounds very similar to yours with the pinch rails thingies that bolt to the side of the bed railing.....
-
.....I thought that I read on here somewheres that the leaf springs would not interchange, different lengths?
-
...I , too, do not know what waggy springs are :dunno: .....please enlighten me...

....just scored a set of OEM towing mirrors...$30  ....also was able to re-install the original Comanche bedliner, had to add twice as many screws to secure it to the side, was warped all crazy. Weird liner, is a drop in, but doesn't wrap up over the bed sides like most I have seen, has a seperate mounting strip for each side that is grooved to hold the liner and screws to the inside lip of the bed rail....

rocketwheels replied to rocketwheels's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
..."did you put a base coat of green over everything, then paint ..." ...nope, just doing each color in the pattern as i get to it. From 5 feet away it looks great, from 2 feet it looks like crap.It has been really cold while I'm painting, paint is trying to sag in places, plus I couldn't get the remnants of the stickers off, so i just scraped them with a window razor to knock the loose edges off. It's a $200 truck, it will look good enough! -

if its still grinding when running , Id suspect the loose bolt idea , a misaligned or faulty starter not getting away from ring gear, or the throw out bearing/ pressure plate failing. Just because these items are new doesn't mean they are not faulty......
